SPOILER: What got pre-empted

The world did not blow up when Bender said "ass". The Professor reprogrammed the keyword to something Bender will never say. So Bender went ahead anyway and tried to guess what he will never say, like thanks, conpassion, sorry". He eventually got it when he got to "shrimp toast" (but the close captions also had "hootenanny").

It did seem extremely well timed; for about 30 seconds, as the 'Fox News' logo came on, I expected an alien announcer coming on, telling everyone the 'news' that the Earth had just blown up....

You're both right-first he said "shrimp toast", then (off-camera) he said "antiquing" and then there was the sound of a muffled explosion followed by Bender saying he was okay.
