So, now that Leela has finally realized how much she cares for Fry (and the show is ending anyway), are we going to see some real changes in their relationship?
Speaking of "Wake up Leela", does anybody else remember the final episode of the Newhart show? (The one where he ran the hotel?) Talk about your big kahuna mother of all "it was only a dream" episodes.
I'd think there won't be a change for the next few episodes, but what thze ep guide tells about the last episode (The devil's hands are idle playthings), sounds to me like it could give a final change. I think the relationship could change at that point and that's the last episode, so they really could chaneg something without changing some element of the show (although at production time they probably didn't knew, I think such thing is something that should end a season and perhaps even a show).

I would speculate that the answer is no, since we know that in a later episode Fry will do something desperate(Sell his soul)to win Leela (assuming the shows are being shown in the correct order). To me, that's what was saddening to me about this episode - the fact that, in spite of all their suffering together, they both will end up lonely, and suffer more.
