I heard Beck is in episode soon. Was it Cyber House Rules? (I missed it - somehow I just can't remember to watch TV on SUnday before 8 or 9pm.... thank god for Mpeg, Divx, etc.!)

Anyone want to do a brief primer for those of us that have never heard of this guy and, therefore, have no idea who he is or whether any parts were supposed to be funny?

an extremely innovative song writer/singer who is known for melding different musical styles into his own unique style...hence, perhaps, the becktionary. i don't listen to him, so i can only say what i've heard about him. has a huge cult following though.

A guy who does eccentric, eclectic, oddball music that is popular with the people who write up the play lists for alt rock stations. Mostly known for the once overplayed "I'm a loser baby so why don't you kill me".

He had a lot of abstract lyrics. I heard that in an interview in Japan, he was asked what he though about a Japanese paper misprinting some his lyrics, and he said something like "they were better than the originals- I wish I'd though of them."

I believe his father was homeless and played folk music for change.

I saw him in concert last year - it was great. I am a big fan and personally though it was really cool that we was a guest star on Futurama. I think he is freaky musical genius, and I put him up there with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as one of my favorite funky musical artists.
