Eerie connections between 1ACV07 and Simpsons episodes

After going back over a few episodes of the Simpsons, I noticed some eerie coincidences between Simpsons episodes and 1ACV07, "My Three Suns". There's not much more to do during the summer, so anyhow...

Connection #1

Although not nearly as close as some others, there's a certain similarity between the scene in "The Springfield Connection" with Snake and the "Little Neptune" segment. I'm probably just reaching here, though.

Connection #2 (here's where things get weird)

% Bender is in the kitchen below the cockpit, hard at work fixing % their slug dinner. He removes the cooked slug from its boiling pot of % water and places it on a plate. He decides to add a dash of salt, but % in adding that 'dash,' he engulfs the entire slug in a pile of white % salt. It shrivels up beneath the pile.

Now, compare that scene to one in "One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish"...

(SNPP had a very brief description, so this is from memory...)

The apprentice looks at the fugu direction guide and carefully cuts. He seems to make an error, however, and the blowfish shrivels into a lifeless slab, much like the slug from above.

Visually, the scenes are very similar.

Connection #3...

% Florp takes the microphone, a spotlight is turned on him, and the % audience hushes for him. Florp's comedy routine involves pointing out % that people from under the orange sun walk one way, but people from % under the red sun walk a different, much cooler way. The audience % laughs, and Fry seems to appreciate the observation as well.

Then, a very similar segment from "Homer and Apu"...

Comedian: Yo, check this out: black guys drive a car like this.
           [Leans back, as though his elbow were on the windowsill]
          Do, do, ch.  Do-be-do, do-be-do-be-do.
          Yeah, but white guys, see, they drive a car like this.
           [Hunches forward, talks nasally]
          Dee-da-dee, a-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da-dee.
           [Audience howls with laughter]
   Homer: Ah ha ha, it's true, it's true!  We're so lame!

That has to be the most direct comparison. There has to be more, so, uh, does anybody actually want to contribute here?

My problem is that once I found out that Katey Sagal is the one doing Leela's voice, I keep thinking Peg Bundy. Not that there is anything wrong with that, other than it is hard to imagine Peg Bundy as a space alien.

However, with her M...WC hair style and her personality (or lack thereof, depending on your POV), "Peg Bundy" did have some abnormal characteristics - possible signs of "aliens among us".

No kidding? I found her to be extremely sexy, maybe even sexier than Kelly Bundy.

However, the person I was responding to said they never found Sagal sexy playing Peg Bundy. I suspect the reason being that the director specifically wanted her to speak and and in a way that wasn't; otherwise it wouldn't go along with Al's lack of interest in her sexually.
