Owing to the number of complaints recently over stations showing new episodes of "Futurama" "in progress", I thought I'd try to figure out in advance which cities would be showing an early football game on Fox (so Futurama would be on in its entirety) and which would be showing a late game (so it might end up being "joined in progress" depending on how long the game lasts).
Early game: Chicago, New Orleans, Philadelphia Early game IF the home team is not blacked out, otherwise the station can choose: Jacksonville, New York, St. Louis, Washington Late game: Atlanta Late game IF the home team is not blacked out, otherwise the station can choose (well, technically it's the CBS station's choice): Baltimore, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Tampa
All other cities: the local Fox station can decide whether to show an early game (Chicago - Jets, New Orleans - St. Louis, Philadelphia - Washington) or a late game (Atlanta - Oakland), although if Futurama normally starts after 7:00 Eastern, it's not a problem (unless it starts at 8:00 Eastern and it's a REALLY long game). (Actually, the San Francisco station has to show the Raiders game if it's blacked out, but it won't interfere with Futurama.)
Note that there's only one Fox late game, so they can't switch to another one still in progress after it ends.
(For those of you who care how they decide: 1. Fox has to show a team in its own city playing an away game - in this case, Chicago, New Orleans, St. Louis, and Atlanta. 2. Fox has to show a team in its own city playing a home game if it's not blacked out - in this case, New York, St. Louis, Washington, and Oakland. 3. If CBS is showing a team in its own city playing a home game, Fox cannot show a game at the same time - in this case, Jacksonville (as well as Seattle and San Diego) are playing late CBS games (forcing an early Fox game), and Baltimore, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Tampa are playing early CBS games (forcing a late Fox game). 4. In all other cities, the station decides which game to show.)
