Sh-t. Now I have to put up with that damn 'FOX' label in the bottom right of the screen. At least Global removed their label for large sections of the show. ( Bloody idiots at networks who figure they need to brand their transmission 24x7. Irritating as hell, as most don't know how to do it right so that it's there and visible but not overly noticable. )
Anyone know of a nice big stash full-episode Dilbert mpeg's? ( Their net simulcast thing is gone, and CTV only shows it sporadically. ) Willing to trade for other nice group-related stuff :) ( 15KB/s max pipe though. )
Ahhh, the net. Delivering us from the hands of the greedly middle men. Hey, when a revolution makes things cheaper, such as delivery of a product, people will lose their jobs. I couldn't think of a nicer bunch than the people for this to happen to than the RIAA :) Whether or not they drag their artists down with them is, well, going to be up to the artists. All society needs to do is get 'honest' enough to send money directly to the producers of content whom they truly enjoy, and we can get rid of ALL the middle man corporations. Either that or accept the fact that less content is going to be produced.
Of course, ALL that presumes that content consumers are like me, and demand the ultimate in convenience, who will go do Napster like things if we're not satisfied or catered to. There are 6 Billion people on this planet, a good sized chunk of them in the 1st or 2nd world. There's no damn reason things that cost $10-$80 10 years ago should still cost $10-$80. It should be getting cheaper.
Of course, maybe if we've utterly eliminated distribution costs, suddenly there is globalization of distribution, and we suddenly discover that there is WAY too much product for the marketplace! You know what that means :)
Pretty much any way I cut it, the content producers and distributers are in for a rough ride. May the best men and women win.
