Cola induced heart attacks?

The little tidbit of info on the Fox Futurama site about Fry's numerous Cola-induced heart attacks in high school got me to thinking, if Fry is indeed that allergic/reactive to caffeine (besides that, Cola's basically sugar and caramel coloring), why was he just drinking coffee just fine and dandy in 1ACV04? The only thing I can think of is:

a. Fry's drinking decaf. Sounds plausible. b. In the future, people drink a cheap caffeine free coffee substitute (Postum anyone?) c. Fry's allergies(?) went away after high school. Don't know exactly how, but sometimes it happens. d. I'm looking waaay too deep into this.

Personally, I'd go for A, unless he was actually EATING that caffeinated bacon...

Well, I'd go for D, myself... either that or:

e. Fry is not allergic to caffeine, he just drank WAY TOO MUCH cola in high school.

......I recall chugging four Mountain Dew's consecutively back in high school. I didn't have a heart attack, but I did manage to write some horrible poetry to be performed as part of a cast written play. The drama teacher thought it was quite good, although she did remove several lines before the performance because she thought they were too graphic for a high school audience. ;) She even found multiple hidden meanings in phrases that were intended to have absolutely no meaning at all!
