Anthology of Interest 1 VS Anthology of Interest 2

Which one do you guys think is better: Anthology of Interest 1 or 2? I think the second one is much much funnier, although Benders "what-if" from the first one is alot less disturbing.

I like "2", for the "Wizard of Oz" schtick. "Who would have thought a small amount of liquid would ever fall on me? Oh... What a world. What a world!"

While I liked the Bender story in AoI 1 better than the Bender story in AoI 2, AoI 2 is definitely the better of the two, with all the video game references and the Wizard of Oz parody.

I laugh consistantly straight through every time I watch "Raiders of the Lost Arcade". General Pac Man out of breath as he climbs out of the Super Mario pipe gets me every time.

Sorry, but Anthology 2 left me cold, save the Bender-as-human segment. Nothing beats the Leela fantasy about being "more impetuous" (ie. cooking Zoidberg, and really REALLY showing how impetuous she can be with Fry!)

One of my favorite lines:

Leela: You're blackmailing me? Bender: Blackmailing is such an ugly word. I prefer "extortion". The "X" makes it sound cool.

I didn't really like the bender-as-human thing. Too over-the-top for my taste. The life-is-like-a-video game one, I did like. But *all* of the Anthology 1 bits I thought were awesome.

Speaking of the AOI episodes in general, I think this was Futurama's way of doing what the Simpsons do every year in their "Treehouse of Horror" episodes. I wish they'd have done AOI episodes every season.

Well, the second AOI was SUPPOSED to close season 3, but Fox being Fox, many season 3 episodes were held over until the following year. The DVD sets should set the record straight.

So where's Season 4's AOI? I'm guessing they skipped it to tie up some loose ends when FOX canceled them, but it's a shame there's only 2. Of course, with the sci-fi framework, Futurama always had an open choice of plotlines to play with.
