n. a robot programmed to bend particular objects but not
necessarily programmed to de-bend them (ie. a debender); benders
are not programmed with free will to bend whatever they choose
ex. [1ACV01] Bender explains that he was a bender designed to

n. an outdoor sport that combines elements of baseball and
pinball
ex. [1ACV01] Fry, Bender, and Leela attend a blernsball game
at Madison Cube Garden.C
career chip
n. small electronic implant used by the government of Earth to
identify and regulate the employment assignments of it's citizens;
a form of identification; testing and implanting is done at the
age of 3
ex. [1ACV01] In 2999, Fry initially receives a career chip
with the designation of delivery boy, but it is later replaced with
a career chip of the designation of delivery boy.classical music
1. n. rap music from the 1980's and 1990's (syn. old school beats)
2. n. any mainstream pop music from that time period
ex. [1ACV06] Leela says that Fry's Sir Mix-a-lot CD is classical
music.coin-operated prostitute
n. a robot programmed to perform sex acts for money; typically
built to resemble a human female with a $.25 coin slot (see also
robosexual)
ex. [1ACV09] Bender is solicited by a coin-operated prostitute.convenience drive
n. the technology for traveling through space at or beyond the
speed of light
ex. [1ACV0?] Convenience drive was first mentioned in an
pre-premiere interview with Matt Groening but has yet to be
mentioned in an episode.coolant leak
1. n. a robot misconception of humans likely due to a lack of
knowledge about human
biological functions; a robot term for the loss of internal fluids
ex.[1ACV05] Robot: "Sir, are you aware that you're leaking coolant
at an alarming rate?"cryogenics
n. in Futurama terms, it is the science of suspended animation.
In actuality, it is a misnomer for cryonics. Tyler McHenry explains
"Cryonics is not to be confused with cryogenics or cryobiology.
Cryogenics deals with metals at supercold tempratures. Cryobiology
deals with non- sentient creatures at supercold tempratures.
Cryonics is the term for freezing humans to prolong life."
ex. [1ACV01] Fry is frozen in an Applied Cryogenics Corp. lab
in 1999 and revived in 2999.D
dark matter
1. n. a super-dense substance used for spaceship fuel
2. n. the feces of a species of alien animals that are known
only as nibblers
ex. [1ACV04] Prof. Farnsworth explains to the PE crew how dark
matter was mined from the core of Vergon 6 leaving it completely
hollow and subject to kerplosion (see also kerplode).E

fungineer
n. a rides and attractions designer for Luna Park, the theme
park on the moon; a parody of a similar word at Disneyland
ex. [1ACV02] ride narrator: "No one knows where, when or how
man first landed on the moon, but our fungineers think it might
have happened something like this..."G
gaydar
n. a technology used to detect a certain sexuality in sentient
beings and weather balloons; a gay radar device
ex. [1ACV04] Bender uses his gaydar machine on several potential
dates for Leela.guh
interj. (also g'uh) a word used in contempt or disdain when
refering to the obvious
ex.[1ACV04] Fry asks "Why's everyone wearing those rings?".
Amy Wong replies "G'uh! Because nobody wears them anymore. Rings
are stupid."H
hookah
n. an apparatus robots use to jack on with (see also jacking
on)
ex. [1ACV09] Bender goes to a robot party and asks "What kind
of party is this? There's no booze and only one hookah".I

jacking on
v.i. the act of using electric currents to get a short-term
high; a robot practice considered a sin by the Temple of
Robotology
ex. [1ACV09] Bender has been in the bathroom for some time.
Leela asks "Are you jacking on in there?"K
kerplode
v.i. a slang word used loosely to describe a violent implosion
or explosion
ex.[1ACV04] Fry says "...the planet's kerploding!"killamajig
n. a ceremonial execution weapon indigenous to Chapek 9; a
metal mace with various
implements of death attached to it
ex.[1ACV05] The robot elders order Bender to use the
ceremonial killamajig on his friends.killbot
n. a robot programmed to kill a predetermined number of
targets then immediately shut down
ex.[1ACV04] Zapp Brannigan once defeated a horde of rampaging
killbots in the Octillian System.L

meatbag
n. a derogatory slang term for a human typically used by robots
(syn. skin tube, space heater, flesh wad, pork sack)
ex.[1ACV01] Bender: Bite my shiny metal ass!" Fry: "It doesn't
look so shiny to me."
Bender: "Shinier than yours, meatbag."N

pornocumentary
n. any film or TV program that conjoins the presentation of
facts about a person or event with gratuitous hard core nudity
and sex acts
ex. [1ACV08] "The Great Garbage Crisis of 2000" Note: the word
pornocumentary has never actually appeared in an episode, the word
was coined by Dave Sweatt.probulator
1. n. a large machine used to examine humans and aliens down
to the DNA level
2. n. any device with numerous probe attachments
ex. [1ACV01] Fry receives an initial physical examination from
a probulator upon entering NNYC in 2999 after being revived from
suspended animation.Q

recycle
v.t. to reuse everything and waste nothing; in Futurama,
recycling has been taken to a new level so that no trash is
accumulated (ie. sandwiches are often made from old discarded
sandwiches and robots are made from beer cans and visa versa)
n. recycling, the processes of reusing everything to yield
zero garbage
ex. [1ACV08] Fry announces "People of New New York, take a
lesson from the 20th century, stop all this pain in the ass
recycling and throw your garbage on the floor!"robannukah
n. a robot holiday possibly contrived; the holiest two weeks
of the robot calendar (others include robamadan, robanza)
ex. [1ACV05] Fry and Leela raise Bender's spirits by
celebrating robannukah with him.robot porn
n. pictures or other depictions of robots exposing their
circuits and wiring (a robot schematic also fits the definition
of robot porn)
ex. [1ACV05] Bender finds a Playbot magazine and other robot
porn in an old abandoned adult bookstore.robosexual
1. adj. characterized by sexual attraction felt by a person
for a robot or a robot for a person
2. n. a person that engages in sex acts with a robot (or visa
versa).
ex. [1ACV01] Bender agrees to befriend Fry but doesn't want
to them to be misconstrued as robosexuals.robotology
1. n. a robot religion founded by the prophet Jerematic; it's
scriptures are assembled on the Goodbook 3.0
ex. [1ACV09] Bender is baptised by the Temple of Robotology.S
security cordon
n. a geo-political term describing a no-fly zone; an off
limits area usually designated around a planet or region of
space by a governing body
ex. [1ACV04] Zapp Brannigan explains that there is a DOOP
(Democratic Order of Planets) security cordon around the planet
Vergon 6 due to it's impending kerplosion (see also kerplode)sexatorium
n. an establishment devoted to sex (syn. [1ACV02] sexateria)
ex. [1ACV01] Billboards for a sexatorium are seen.T
trashteroid
n. a giant celestial ball of garbage; a man made asteroid-like
object
ex. [1ACV08] A trashteroid that was launched from Earth in
2052 to alleviate the critical trash problem returns to Earth.
Note: the word trashteroid never actually appeared in the
episode, it was coined by an alt.tv.futurama poster (name?).U
