That's right, Phillip J Fry is a fish! It's time all you Ichthyophobiac land-lubbers admit it. Now, you bloats who aren't from this side of the pond, the inside, probably never heard of this definition of the word 'fry.' So here it is, made legitimate because I copied from the internet.

If you can't tell just by looking at him, the writers are constantly inserting reminders. In 'The Series Has Landed' Dr. Zoidberg gives Fry his first exam, and can't make heads or tails of his physiology. Why? Because Zoidberg is an expert on humans, not fish!
After Leela, who did Fry have the deepest feelings for? The mermaid women from the lost city of Atlanta. Her name and where she is now I do not know, Atlanta is lost, I just told you that!
Who did the woman with the largest clutch of eggs fall in love with in 'Why Must I Be a Crustacean in Love?' The robot? No! It was Fry! Because he is a fish monster, just like her.
Where did Fry go to collage? Cooney Island. Go Whitefish! When street surgeons wanted to replace Fry's lungs with a pair of gills, Leela stopped them. Why would she do that? Because he already had gills! He's a fish, haven't you been listening!
What about that episode 'A Fish Full of Dollars?' Fry was the fish, and dollars are what he was full of. A man wouldn't be full of dollars, that doesn't make sense. They would have called it 'A Man Full of Dollars' if they wanted you to think he was human.
Why do people have such a hard time accepting that MG is sophisticated man who has traveled many place, sea as well as land. Having spent time in the water as well as on the coast, he no doubt had frequent opportunity to be exposed to word 'fry' and naturally would want to base one of his characters on it.
I think it's time everyone puts aside their misconceptions based on obvious behavior and seasons of character development, and accept the simple fact that it's the occasional jokes based on a play on words that truly define who someone is.
