Zoidberg & Hermes, wher'es it going?

Anyone else think that maybe a future ep should shed some light on WHY Hermes seems to hate Zoidberg so much? My hunch is that we'll find out that Zoidberg once did something terrible to Hermes and this would explain their current relationship.

I would think that just because Hermes is such a total anal retentive perfectionist bureaucrat and Zoidberg is such an inept scatterbrain would be reason enough.

It makes for great comedy though. The antogonism provides great insult banter and Zoidy's imperfections actually make Bender and Fry appear less inept. Futurama dodged a characterization mistake that both The Simpsons and Family Guy repeatedly commit- making the primary *too stupid*. Offsetting that absurdity on Zoidberg, a lesser character, makes it more watchable and less annoying.

Since Zoidberg and Hermes are the two permanent employees at Planet Express, there is also a pseudo sibling rivalry for the professors favor. Hermes is the one person who can keep the business running, but Zoidberg is still needed for insurance purposes. Despite having multiple heart attacks before the age of 25, Fry was declared fit for space travel. Probably in exchange for a meal.

In the event of legal problems, they can make a scapegoat of Zoidberg and escape prosecution.

Maybe "Manwich" isn't so much a brand name as a description of the contents...

I've always just been under the impression that EVERYBODY hates Zoidberg, and Hermes is just the most vocal about it.
