Review of "Parasites Lost"

Before I start, let me say that unfortunately, I have a bit of a negative
review, when many consider it the best ever. My main gripe is that while there
was a structure, the flesh that filled it in wasn't so good.
    I thought the plot/story of the episode was very good. It was set up very
well, with nearly everything having a purpose. Scientifically, it was very
interesting, with the journey through the body, and the worm civilization. I
love it when they get deep down into exploring science fiction. I thought that
the script didn't deliver, though.
    Many of the jokes were pretty good, but I found certain ones very crude, by
which I mean, not delivered well. The references to the reproductive, and
urectum systems were all too inevitable, and predictable. I'll have to admit I
watched this episode after the comedic masterpiece, "Mystery Science Theater
3000: The Movie", so something would have to be pretty dang funny afterwards.
    It was good to see that the parasites brought along not just an event
episode, but likewise a character episode, but certain things didn't pull
through. I'm glad Fry was displayed as not as conventional of a brainiac like a
certain episode of the Simpsons called "HOMR", but much of the dialouge didn't
pull through. All throughout, many of the lines seemed forced. I couldn't feel
the sense of passion between Fry and Leela. The holograph instrument scenes
were great, but had further potential. As I said, I couldn't feel the
relationship. A lot of the dialouge was *very* static. "An X-Mas Story" hinted
the relationship with very real emotions, and was very warm. A lot of things in
this episode were cold. In the end, I thought the plot, and story was very
good, but a lot of comedy, character, and heart was a bit stale.

Yesterday's episode rocked! It was refreshing to watch a new one for a change! I also liked how those worms were making Fry smart and how he shrunk himself to beat those worms!

One of the best episodes I have seen in a long time! I look forward to seeing the new ones this Februrary! That is.....of course football doesn't come first.

Ya, I'm still LOL 24 hours later. After he shrunk himself he wasted no time by choosing the direct route to his colon, dropping himself down the back of his whitey tighties. :) I totally agree, best episode ever, and much better than any Simpsons of the past two seasons. A+++

I don't know, IMO, I thought there were way too many predictable jokes relating to the human gluteus maximus.

I think the episode was acutally an even better premise to top off what we saw between Fry and Leela from 'A Flight To Remember" and 'An X-Mas Story', but it was so stale

I'd really like to see how they could manage to stretch the post-game superbowl show throughout the *entire* month of Febuary. :-P

Who's got the Pro bowl this year?

The dialogue seemed very forced and the characters lacked depth. I almost couldn't recognize their normal personalities.

I have seen all the episodes (of course ;-) and IMHO Parasites lost was one of the not so funny episodes.....
