Sniff, this episode was just great. Lots of laughs, a proper amount of fanservice, and a very sad ending.

THAT is Futurama for me.

Did you notice Nibbler? I won't spoil any further for those who haven't seen the ep yet, but look out for the rat. Also, that Leela and Amy moment is bound to make some people a bit... ummm... excited. :P

Oh well, it had laughs, emotion, and a cute ending. The only thing is that we're about to have a "what's that song at the end of 'Jurassic Bark'?" questions. *sigh*

Well, as I said in an earlier post, I was sobbing into the pillow, and I haven't cried in 25 years. But I felt OK afterwards. The main thing to remember is, of course you know the show is all made-up stuff, the sadness you feel is sadness that was already there within yourself and the show simply (and extremely well) put you in touch with it.

Feel your sadness well, for like everything else, it will soon pass.

Well, if his species has been around since before the beginning of the universe...(3ACV07 - The Day the Earth Stood Stupid) then there's probably something linking it all together....Isn't there supposed to be an episode later on this season which ties it all together?

A great link to see the original frame in the first ep and this new frame. This leads me to believe that the past has been changed by a time traveler - if Nibbler is watching Fry for the good of the universe or something, this new character may be evil... etc.

P.S. The song is one of the things that makes the episode so sad; the dog DOES want to be with Fry, and they find that out ... But, wait a minute, couldn't Farnsworth's machine scan Seymour's brain and see whether he WANTS to be brought back? Or is this one of those realizations that is meant to drive you further into depression?

I dunno, I hope they ended it the way they did for a reason (other than "life's tough" or "better to have lost love than to have never loved" crap). It was sad. Really sad. Kind of left me in a state where I didn't remember any of the jokes from earlier on, just that I felt bad for the dog.

Humor-wise, I thought last week's episode was better. I'd have to re-watch it before I think of any capsule material though. One that does jump out at the moment was the Seymour fossil: He was sitting/lying down at the end of the episode, yet the fossil was of him standing up.

Yet the dog was found in or near the pizza place when it was dug up. Also, Seymour was "flash fossilized," which wasn't shown at the end of the episode. The episode clearly didn't show the dog's death.

It would have been better if, from the start, the fossil was of Seymour lying down in the position shown at the very end of the show, and at the end of the show after he lay down and closed his eyes, snow started falling and covered him up.
