There was a day when Channel 4 in the UK had to pull Futurama and I wonder if there were many complaints about the intial sequence when they showed it a while after.

Yeah, that was supposedly why "I Dated a Robot" was never aired in sequence with the rest of the eps. Which gave C4 a good excuse to relegate Futurama to early-morning TV when no-one would see it.

Inadvertantly they put it in the "humour for hardcore fans who appreciate it and not for you low life's who wouldn't know comedy if it bit you on the arse" slot along with Family Guy, The PJs, South Park and King of the Hill. Sadly that slot has all but dried up and I've just got to buy the third and fourth DVD series on Tuesday to complete the set.

Slightly unrelated, I remember a top 40 station that stuck with regular programming and was playing "Thong Song"...
Imagine flipping through the stations hearing...
