=v= The real crossover comic geek question has just gotta be, if Comic Book Guy and Melllvar got into a fight, who'd win?

=v= If you apply the _Stand_by_Me_ formula, Melllvar would win
because _Futurama_ is real life and _The_Simpsons_ is just a
cartoon.  Note that Comic Book Guy only has his greatest powers
during an out-of-continuity "Treehouse of Horror" episode, which
is even *less* real life, and even there he gets
beaten by Lucy Lawless!                                 .-.  .-.

No one wins in a crossover. They fight over a misunderstanding, it'd be cleared up mid fight and they'd shake hands and fight the real villians, kids with grubby fingers on their comics.

Trivia extremists cannot stand anyone who knows as much as they do. They generally prefer to put people down by knowing more. So such a fight would end with the two of them in an eternal battle like that one Star Trek where the good and evil versions ended up trying to strangle each other forever.

Another possibility is for each show to start the crossover and then each do a parallel episode showing the battle from their own point of view. In each show, the "local" character would be able to claim their own form of victory.

There already was a crossover! Remember the telethon? Bender was one of the 'celebrities' involved as a PBS telethon phone answering person/robot! :-)

Bender was on the show but none of the Futurama cast have met the Simpsons cast.

No. Futurama is real [Okay, so where's "Jury Duty II"?]. "The Simpsons" is a television show with merchandising. Bender finds the remnants of the Simpson era and it made a good gag. My cousin had one of those dolls, actually.

=v= I don't see a problem with this. Again, since _Futurama_ is for real, real-life characters such as Bender can appear on _The_Simpsons_, no problem. He probably went back in time to save _Single_Female_Lawyer_ to save Earth from another attack of the Omicronians -- but that's a fictional situation because it's on _The_Simpsons_.

=v= Again, since Bart Simpson dolls that say "Eat my
shorts" are for real, this makes perfect sense.          .--.

On the ball of rubbish episode there were Bart Simpson dolls with the pull cord at the back.

That was quite early on!
