Futurama intro sequence blacked out...

So I was watching Futurama on Global St-John this last Friday (Sep 14th at 11:30pm). The part in the intro sequence where the ship crashes into the giant billboard was blacked out (no sound/picture for about 3 seconds). I thought that was going a bit overboard--I thought it brought attention to the similarity of last week's events instead of...well, whatever it is they were trying to accomplish by doing that.

Now, the really ironic part is that the episode was a rerun of I Second That Emotion, which is about Bender's insensitivity...at one point, he even laughs at some news report about some space ship with 50,000 people onboard that crashed (or something)...I thought that hit much closer to home than the intro part, yet didn't get cut out...

Global St-John *is* the channel--this one originating from St-John, New Brunswick, Canada. Global CanWest (I believe that's the full name) is one of the major nation-wide Canadian TV networks...more or less the Canadian equivalent of something like CBS or NBC or Fox. I'm located nearby Ottawa, Ontario. I get most of the Global stations in the different Canadian time zones (St-John is just one of many) on StarChoice, a satellite TV provider. Global St-John, specifically, is channel 330. This is the only Global station that seems to have Futurama in that timeslot, the others being located in Toronto (channel 331 on StarChoice), Winnipeg (335), Calgary (336), Edmonton (338) and Vancouver (339)--I've probably mixed up the last three.

That's about all I can tell ya.

Interesting. I live in NC and know absolutely nothing about Canadian TV (well, not anymore ;-) ). I wonder how long they will continue to blank out the 'space ship' hitting the 'TV monitor on a building' intro sequence.

That's just silly - futurama was on here today and besides the normal cutting to pieces they do in the UK, at least the intro was intact :-)
