The Futon Critic (www.thefutoncritic.com) reports that the last five unaired episodes will air on July 13, 20, 27, August 3 and 10. The Futurama time slot is marked "To Be Announced" after that, but I expect reruns of "Oliver Beene" to air after August 10 (that is, when NFL football does not pre-empt it beginning August 31), as that show takes over the time slot when the 2003-04 season begins. The five remaining episodes (note this is NOT necessarily the order in which they will be shown, although the last one will almost certainly air August 10), with descriptions "borrowed" from The Leela Zone: Bender Should Not Be Allowed On Television (Bender gets a job on "All My Circuits") Obsoletely Fabulous (Bender gets an upgrade) Bend Her (Bender becomes a fembot) Spanish Fry (Fry's nose is stolen) The Devil's Hands are Idol Playthings (Fry makes a deal with the Robot Devil to get closer to Leela)

What has this film got against Futurama? This isn't the first time that that dire film has pre-empted the show.

That movie is some of the worst drek ever created in the history of Hollywood and for whatever reason, it's played on or around July 4th (I believe always on FOX) with regularity not seen since "It's a Wonderful Life" at Christmas time or "The Ten Commandments" during Easter.

I make no exaggeration when I say I would prefer to stare at an unplugged tv for 3 straight hours, with nary a commercial to break up the monotony, under threat of testicular shock should my eyes stray from the screen even for an instant, than to watch even 5 minutes of that hugely uncreative ripoff of War of the Worlds (how's that for a run-on sentence? Take that 8th grade English teacher!!!). At least with a blank screen, I can imagine something even slightly more creative while singing Henry the 8th over and over...
