Twilight Zone parody...

Wouldn't it be great if they did a twilight zone parody on Fute?

Opening scene, a man in a dark suit:, seen from waist up:

"Submitted for your approval, one Phillip Fry, a man out of time, a man trying to adapt in aliebn surroundings. But soon, he will find a place he cannot adapt to, a place called: 'The Twilight Limits'".

[Camera pulls back revealing that the man is not wearing any trousers, only a pair of white boxer shorts with little picutres of Bart Simpson on them, the man turns and walks off camera.]

Howsabout: the man is Matt Groening's head-in-a-jar.

I've seen his name given as Phillip in several postings and websites, but I don't remember them saying it on the show. His 1999 girlfriend called him "Fry," and he introduces himself that way. What episode was it in?

Phillip is an unspoken first name given to him in memory of Phil Hartman.

They all stand for Jay from Jay Ward, so Homer's revelation about it being Jay was no suprise to me (I predicted it a year earlier!)

Bart's is Jojo, but that was just for a comic joke and never mentioned again...

I think that may be right: I rember reading somewhere that the "J" in Homer, Bart, and Fry's middle names is a reference to Jay Ward and his characters Rocky and Bullwinkle. Both Rocky and Bulwinkle had the middle initial J. With that in mind, Fry's name is almost all tributes, isn't it? "Phillip" for Phil Hartman, J for Jay...

They sort of did--but it was only a sight gag as opposed to a whole episode; Bender's apron of "To Serve Man" when he was preparing dinner for the rest of the crew.
