Lack of, well logic

Whilst watching Friends access all aresa I noticed that on the season 5 finlae they taped Chandler and Mon going oh my god after ross and rachel exit and then stop taping for that season and rip all the set down. What's the logic in this? Why not tape the scene in the Chapel for the first episode of Season 6 and all the Vegas bits , then ripping all the sets down so that Central Perk can go back in. What is the logic in this?

P.S. My friend think's I'm sad subscribing to this Newsgroup and wants too ask you all a question: Is it true that Ross is actually an alien, and is Chandler really a woman?

Owen

Yes. Ross is a Snaroian from the planet Russ, and every person I've ever met named Chandler was a little girl, so there you go.

well, all of us are just as sad as you, Owen :) And to answer your question: Yes, Ross is from the same planet as Malik the nurse from ER. You see, anything weird that happens on ER is blamed on Malik, as his superiors on his home planet have sent him to do all those jobs. Ross was sent by the same superiors, who call themselves simply: TPTB (pronounced TipTib) <g>

and Chandler... well, he's not a girl, he's GAY! He's been dating Brian from payroll secretly for the past 6 years.

All in fun ;) Shaz "Turkey's burnt, potatoes are ruined, potatoes are ruined, potatoes are ruined." http://zap.to/ERweb (ER Multimedia) http://members.xoom.com/shaz915/ERcreative/FAQ http://members.xoom.com/shaz915/GellerBing http://members.xoom.com/FriendsQuote

LOL, Surely you mean Yosh!

well actually Brian was more of his "bit-on-the-side" for when Monica is working late at the restaurant :)

Well of course. He couldn't *really* get a Brian, now could he? Chandler was Brian's front for dating Rachel.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just can't find whereabouts you mean.

What was the dialogue at that point?

Is it: "The mom was calling Chandler (her son, not Bing) to come over to her, or something. . . I know I saw it! Maybe it wasn't in London, but I was almost sure it was!"

You're posts are most difficult to read. See how much easier mine is to read? If you are intending to communicate with other people here (and I assume you are since you're posting instead of emailing), we all must adhere to the same set of rules for communication.

(Bet all those lessons in grammar school are coming back to haunt you!!)

Hellooooo!!! After getting drunk in Vegas, Randy Hinds doodled cat whiskers on his/her face and miaowed this little lot at a statue...

...then...

"You are posts are most difficult to read"?

Um, I hate to point out the obvious, mate... :)

It's a valid point, I have difficulty reading the posts in question as well, but I can see how this could be taken as a wee bit of hypocrisy - if you're going to criticise something, you may as well get it right yourself.

Alright, it's just something that gets on *my* nerves. :)

Got me. I admit it. I never said I was perfect. Nobody here is perfect. Did you think so? That was a typo, not bad grammar due to laziness.

However, I did say: "Could you PLLEEASSEE put ***some*** effort into writing, spelling, and grammar?"

(note the emphasis on "some").

not: "Could you PLLEEASSEE put enough effort into it to ensure your posts are 100% accurately spelled and grammatically correct".

It should also be understood that most people don't have spell checkers on their newsreaders, so a couple of typos and/or misuses of words are generally acceptable. Asking everyone to ensure this would be absurd, and most people don't care enough about this to that degree, *as long as the meaning is clear* in the post.

However, the grammar and spelling of the original post were so bad that the meaning was basically lost. But you were however able to gather the meaning of my post, were you not?

I rest my kase^H^H^H (ahem) case.

And actually, if we want to start a pissing war. . .

"criticise" should be "criticize" (however I know the folks in the UK differ on this, so maybe this is without merit)

AND

"Alright" instead of "All right" is considered bad grammar (it's not even in most dictionaries, much like "ain't")

AND

My original error was: "You're posts are most difficult to read." not "You are posts are most difficult to read" as you retyped.

--Randy, who has carefully scanned his post to ensure everything is 100% purfect^H^H^H^H^H^H^PERFECT - PERFECT. perfect. P - E - R - F - E - C - T perfect.

Randy:

*Aren't you sweet? Or since I'm so dumb it should really be "Ain't you sweet?" huh? First, of all the post didn't concern you. I was talking to someone else. Gosh, ROSS! Second of all, it's just a POST! Who cares? Well, I guess obviously you do! I'm sorry but I don't waste my time making sure my grammar is correct on these type of posts! Needless to say, I don't waste my time correcting other people's grammar problems. I'm not in school! Plus, if you were able to "translate" my sentence, doesn't that mean you undertood it? Pretty much the only thing u changed was making things capitalized and you also fixed a typo. I think people can still read even though not every name is capitalized, okay...randy? Also, couldn't you have just said, "Can you please repeate that comment?" You really didn't have to go on and on about it. Get over it! Many times when people write something online, they do abreviations, don't capitalize things, or leave out commas, because it's FASTER and normal people don't care as much. Sorry, if this sounds rude at all, but I have to defend myself. Was my grammar okay in this letter?

Calm down. Calm down. Sorry for the original attack . . . I never said you were dumb. It's obvious you are not. If I thought your original posts were the best you could do, then it would be futile for me to try to persuade you to put more effort into it. The fact is, you could do better, and you just proved it.

I wouldn't have posted anything if the meaning of your original post was even remotely discernable. It wasn't at all. I took a guess as to what you meant with your sentence. I could have put the punctuation in different locations in the sentence and changed the whole meaning of it, and I STILL wouldn't know if it's what you meant or not.

When you post online, to newsgroups, you post to everyone. Regardless of who you think you're responding to, anyone can read the post. That's *why* you posted it to an *newsgroup*, and did not use email. Right? It's a public forum. It's not private. If you want private, you use email. (And even that's not entirely private, but we'll save that discussion for another time. . . )

No. I don't really care that much either. And actually, you should take the attention as a compliment, not a criticism. In essence, I was saying to you that your posts were important enough for me to *want* to read. If I didn't care, I would have just skipped right over your posts and ignored you. But I didn't. I wanted to read what you had to say.

This message was much, much better btw. I can tell what you are trying to say. Very easily, in fact. (I also noticed you included my post to you, so it is very easy to see what you are referring to.)

Please remember, the key is to COMMUNICATE. Errors, misspellings, run-on sentences, abbreviations, etc etc etc are common in newsgroups. Nobody is going to stop them and I'm not trying to stop that. That would be ludicrous to even try. But what is needed is enough clarity so that your meaning is conveyed to the readers. That's all. That's the whole purpose of posting in a public forum, right?

Once again, sorry for my apparent attack.

(Is it any wonder Ross is my favorite Friend?)
