It was exactly the same as the screener, except the scenes with the neighbour. Even the dialogue in those scenes was taken verbatum from the screener (except some additional stuff about the neighbour being a corporate lawyer). The new girl definitely does a better job though.
I'm disappointed they didn't change Jennifer Coolige's scene's at all, the dialogue in their meeting is horrible. Oh, they also changed the TV report on the nurses show a little bit.
An interesting goof was noticeable in the scene with Gina giving the neighbour her card and asking about the hair. Since the beginning and the end of the scene were from the screener, while that small part was reshot, the bottom of Gina's feet go from clean to dirty to clean again.

I didn't saw it until you mentioned it, but you're right!
All in all I found it al little disappointing. I was kind of hoping for a better episode. The reference to Chandler and Joey being gay was left in. When Michael touched the food he prepared for Joey, Joey could have said "Joey doesn't share food!" (see 1009 - The One With The Birth Mother). Why didn't he call one of the other Friends to know that he arrived safely? All those tiny references weren't made. As I said earlier: I give it a year or two at the utmost.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The girl in the screener version *was* hot and I've not seen the televised version yet, but I read that a test audience didn't like that the actress wore no bra (must not be the target audience tho) I was surprised Joey didn't say "How you doin' ?", but that might belong to the Friends creators, not the character we know as Joey.

It actually seemed pretty polished for a pilot episode! Heck look at the Friends pilot - not so good... The Simpsons pilot reeked, but turned into a big hit later on.
For a pilot, I found it pretty good. Look at other (older) show�s pilots, you�ll notice a difference between the pilot and the last two or three seasons.
Well, subjective impression, I hoped to be entertained and that�s just what I�ve got. :-)

You mentioned only one, the one before was acually a reference/continuation. Actually, his speech at the end was the best reference a fan could hope for. Joey�s appeal was directed not only at Gina, but also all Friends fans who tuned in, and I found it pretty good. But that�s perhaps just me ;-)
Pessimist, I hope history proves you wrong ;-) Your viewing preferences suggest more of a Baywatch series (see above "A) she was hotter and B) she was more hot."), if that�s what you want, measure quality and look out for in a comedy show better watch something else... :-) ciao

It's a Friends spin-off so I would expect the same kind of filming/acting. This is totally different. It might be attractive for Frasier fans or who ever, but you can't say this is a continuation of Friends (AND THAT IS WHAT THIS NEWSGROUP IS ABOUT!) with a different touch.
About the "hotter" remark, I was obviously making a joke but Joey is a ladies man, so why can't a girl be hot (read: not wear a bra).
In what way is the filming/acting different from Friends? You haven�t mentioned that aspect before, having attractive women on screen is somewhat unrelated to that aspect ;-) ciao

There are many differences. First of all, look at the cross-over's, they're very different. They try to give a much faster feel and look to Joey. Further, in Friends there are more story-lines at the same time. Joey only has one and so are there many more differences. Which isn't necessary bad, but most of us here are fans of Friends because of the unique characteristics.

They also left out the scene about the lasagne (whether to eat it at 7.30 or 9.30). It was a stupid dialog to begin with so it's for the better. They left her married. I'm curious to find out who the husband is. Is there a name already? I also got the impression that they tried to make Alex a lot less sexy then Allison. Allison's strap of her purse is always hanging around her body which accentuates her boobs and they didn't do that with Alex. Alex is also wearing more concealing clothes.
What I find amazing is that Matt is in every scene. That's a real break from the Friends tradition where they tried to give every friend as many scene's as the others.

Yes, it certainly would have been awkward to give the Friends characters a lot of scenes, especially since those actors aren't in the cast of "Joey". Shots of Chandler and Monica's apartment with nobody in it would have really slowed down the episode.
