WooHoo!!! 2 more seasons. They've reached a deal

Hollywood reporter confirmed that the cast of Friends have reached a 2 year deal with NBC. click on the link to read more.

Okay, they signed the contracts for two more seasons. That's the easy part. The hard part now is making sure the program that's being turned out is worth watching. That means writing the characters like people who are in their 30s, returning multi-dimensional personalities to these characters, and focusing on the chemistry between all six. I like Chandler and Monica together, but this is not "The Chandler and Monica Show," nor is it "Ross Loves Rachel." The show is "Friends," not "Couples," and let's hope the bright, well-written script that we saw in the fantasy episode this year is a harbinger of what we can expect in the future. Assuming "Jesse" and "Veronica's Closet" are both history, let's hope the powers that be focus on this, their best show ever and hope this next season resembles the brilliant first season. Otherwise, ABC might as well just move "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" against it and just kill it off.

Well it pretty much means that C&M can expect a breakup next season. One additional season and maybe they might of found a way to stay together, but with two i think a breakup is guaranteed. The R&R yo-yo will continue up and down, up and down. The only question is joey and phoebe and what will they do with them, and will BKC invest in new writing talent

i hope they will keep c & m engaged until the very last episode(s). i think it would be wrong to marry them off or have them break up right away. and a 2-year engagement is not that uncommon i think. anyway, i'm so happy that the 6th season finale isn't going to be the last episode ever. i don't think i could ever have faith in television sitcoms again if they had let the r & r story unresolved! are they ever gonna put them back together again?!! i guess we have to wait another two years to find the answer to that....two years...yay, i'll have 'friends' almost all the way til i graduate =)

I think he means that they don't see 701 till January 2001, which means he has to worry about spoilers for it from August 2000 (when it's taped) until it airs for him. No one, except the people at the taping, are lucky enough (or are they? I'd cringe being present at some of these episodes) to see the premiere in August.
