It really sounds like pitch to me. (she really emphasizes the P and T) As I'm not from an English speaking country, I looked up what "pitch" could mean in this context. Dictionary.com had a long list, but this convinced me:

_Informal. _ - A line of talk designed to persuade: � [his] pious pitch for... austerity� (Boston Globe). - An advertisement.

It could be one of the two...

I just wanted to add that it is not Ducokus as written in the script but Dukakis. Michael S. Dukakis won the Democratic nomination for the Presidency in 1988 but was defeated by George Bush.
