Ross is back to his season 1 self. It was great to see Rachel being honest. Very mature for her. Ross should hook up w/ that furniture woman...she is interested in his work.

One of the best IMHO, maybe even /the/ best; it's hard to tell as there's always something you dislike in an episode and the brain falsifies memories constantly. In my list it competes with TOW the Videotape. The best scene is still in TOW the Stripper with Ross, Mona & Dr. Green.
Um, he's very likeable, yes, but he obviously isn't secretly fallen in undying love with Rachel. Or it's being *very* secretly.

Please say you're joking. Mona was interested too, but that kind of partner isn't what Ross needs IMHO. Plus if he did date her now there would be _never_ again a chance for R&R.

Haven't seen all the episodes yet, but from what I've read of the scripts, the funniest line this year is "they both want to live in a house of cheese!" - cracks me up every time I read it! :-)

What do you mean by 'that kind of partner'? We don't know anything about the salesgirl we saw in this episode. She seemed nice enough and nothing was wrong with Mona while there are several things wrong with Rachel. For one, she doesn't respect his work or him enough to be considerate to him on anything. She constantly critises him. What will her child think of her or it's father when the mother is mocking him every chance she gets?
I really hated Rachel in this episode. Even JA couldn't make her likeable. Maybe after the baby is born, Rachel will learn not to be selfish. Only then does she deserve to have Ross or Joey or any man.

That's honesty in my book. Realizing and admitting that you're being selfish and unreasonable is something different. Nice, but only thing to do, though.
I think he needs someone to fight with sometimes, not someone like Mona who admires everything he is or does.
We don't know how serious this is, but it's obvious that she thinks "stoned" animals are dead and boring. Maybe this will be one storyline in season 9:
Ross: "Please, Rache, could you please treat me and my work with respect at least in front of our daughter?"
That's what they intended you to see her like IMHO - "We'll be right back after the second spoiler space." Nevertheless I think she's right, Ross should concentrate on her and the baby right now. Although she offered him to be involved as much as he wants, he wanted it all, now he has to stand in and after a little push does. She could have said it better, though.

Oh, I disagree. He needs someone who is interested in what he has to say and what he does. He needs someone who doesn't feel the need to control him in every way. He needs someone mature. Rachel isn't any of these things. I'm hoping that parenthood will teach her to be a better person.
That would be interesting. It's not just Rachel, though. None of them respect Ross's job or his interests and they don't respect Chandler, period.
Yes, she could have put it better. Had she pointed out his promise from TOW Baby Shower to Sandra that he'd take care of her and asked him to spend time with her and their baby, it wouldn't made her look bad.

I wouldn't go that far, being neutral towards his job would be enough for him IMHO. Mona and Indiana Jones Katie were interested too much, like Rachel and the rest of the gang is interested too less.
Yeah, he's not Chandler. But he acted the same when he was with Rachel, remember TOW All the Jealousy.
He needs someone at the same level of maturity as himself. Rachel isn't yet. Although she could give him lessons in other areas.

Right, but the child's respect might be reason enough. On the other hand, it's hard to tell how much of this job bashing is serious or just teasing. It maybe differs between the authors, too.

Why? Ross likes to talk about his work. Someone who is neutral might get fed up of listening to him talk about fossils.
Oh, let's not go back to Season 3. I don't blame Ross for anything that happened that season. Well, maybe just one or two things but it was all mostly Rachel's fault.
Actually, their constant jokes about each others careers doesn't sound like stuff that comes out a thirtysomething group of friends at all. It's like they are just out of college or still in it. I don't know when the writers will realise it's been eight years since the show began.
Who says I read NBC's spoilers. I used to be a spoiler addict until this season. I stopped reading spoilers, then I stopped reading NBC's promos. Now I don't even watch their trailers. Trust me, you'll enjoy the episodes a whole lot more when you don't know what's going to happen.

Well, it was serious enough to break them up in the first place, so I would say that the job-isse is the biggest obstacle they will face if they do decide to get together again.
