Emmy awards canceled

I'm not surprised by this, and it is the right thing to do. This is not the time to celebrate TV-stars:

Emmys Canceled for Sunday Night

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The presentation of the Emmy awards, television's equivalent of the Oscars, was canceled on Sunday because of the U.S. air attacks on Afghanistan earlier in the day, a CBS spokeswoman said.

The awards were originally scheduled for presentation in a three-hour nationally televised program on Sept. 16, but were delayed by three weeks because of national mourning for those killed and injured in the aerial assaults on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon five days earlier.

A CBS spokeswoman, Susan Marks, said, "The event is canceled." The awards program had been scheduled to be televised from 8 to 11 p.m. EDT on CBS.

When I remembered the Emmys were today, I automatically figured that out.

CBS and ATAS are going to have lots of meetings this week.

Apparantly, they are going to go ahead and reschedule the Emmy's telecast...I believe they already have a date for sometime in November...not really sure, but i'll post it here when i find out
