Worst episodes

We know FRIENDS had a lot of good, memorable episodes but I think there were also a few very bad ones like...

918 - TOW with the Lottery. I hated this episode because all the characters seemed to have a personality change. I couldn't believe they would fight over lottery tickets and the things they said to each other was not funny but mean-spirited. I especially did not enjoy when Phoebe asked what's more important: Friends or Money? and Monica was the one that said Money. What bother me most about the episodes in the later seasons were that while some of the jokes are funny, they do not seem fitting with the characters - especially Monica and Phoebe. Monica became pretty mean and Phoebe just changes her principles in a lot of occassions

712 - TOW They're Up All Night I could not believe that how boring ALL the storylines in this episode were. I thought it would be good since I enjoyed episodes that has a central plot (TOW No one is ready, the fake party, the football, etc.,) Unfortunately, the characters were doing their own thing and they were very dull. Rachel and Tag looking for those contracts ; Phoebe going crazy over the fire alarm; Ross and Joey stuck on the roof; Chandler trying to get a very tired Monica to have sex...

I didn't particularly dislike this one, actually. I've had dreams about permanently buzzing alarm clocks like Phoebe's problem with the fire alarm (because I was turning the alarm off in the dream rather than in real life).

It isn't that the episode was poor, but more that the potential was far greater then actually was achieved. In other words: they could have gotten much more out of this topic. The actual proposal was a outright disappointment. But Phoeby's proposal was also poorly executed so it seems a trend in the series.

How come you didn't like TOW the Fake Party? Although Rachel was the center of everything in this episode, it was still pretty funny all the things she did to keep Joshua at the party (spin the bottle, doing a cheer...)

I think it's a funny episode but a lot of regulars here dislike that episode for the same reasons you've given. The same reasoning goes for not liking the Ross in the leather pants story. I think I laughed the first time I saw it but that was before I really got into the show to analyse that it's beneath that character. :)

TOW They're Up All Night -- yeah, I hate this too.

TOW The Ball from the Season 5. An episode with the six of them throwing around a ball!!

I liked that episode, and even the part about throwing the ball around was sort of funny. It's the kind of goofy stuff we did as kids (although I think we were a bit younger).
