Everyday, It seems there is a new thread requesting the date for the Friends premiere. If the people read the board for more than a day, they would be able to figure it out, don't you think?

Thing is i've seen groups where FAQ's work. First of all, they seem not to expire. Secondly, they are set to replace the old copy upon reposting. Thirdly, they are posted regularly.

Actually if you think about it she had to remember Chandler because in TOW the Thanksgiving Flashbacks she was the one that remembered Monica's worst Thanksgiving. And if she remembered that she would have to remember Chandler. That's my take on it anyway.

I don't think she remembered him right away because hell she had just left a man at the altar. But IMO she remembered him later. I've done that myself you know see someone that I've met before but not realize it right away. That's my take on it anyway.

In the pilot, Rachel was just a character who had run away from the altar and Chandler was just the guy across the hall from Monica. Jennifer Aniston played it as if she'd never laid eyes on Chandler before. Perry played it as if he'd never laid eyes on Rachel before. In the fictional universe, they had not. Later, due to the magic of being able to rewrite history after the fact, suddenly C&R had met before not once, but twice.

This is the same technique used to turn a character which has been a gentle, self-abasing sweetheart into a pathologic liar one step from the funny farm. "Oh, he was always like this. We are just seeing his true colors now."

It's a TV show. If, tomorrow, everybody decides that Phoebe's birthmother was actually a kleptomaniac who had to be locked up, and the father was NOT Frank, but that's why dear best friend Lily took the twins, it will become the truth, even though right now it is not.

My opinion of it is that in the pilot, she was so rattled by having JUST run out of a VERY public and expensive (i.e. "ritzy") engagement (i.e. her wedding), and had literally RUN down the street in the rain, to where Monica was. It was raining, she was cold, she was very conspicuous, etc etc etc.

She was frantic, confused, unsure of her decision, out of her sorts, embarassed, and just generally dealing with all the hectic changes going on so rapidly in her life. She obviously didn't know what to do next, or even what to think. She had abandoned her entire universe for a long-lost friend she hadn't seen in years. That in itself is a very intimidating prospect.

Also, maybe she didn't want to embarass Monica for making a mistake and introducing her to Chandler, whom Monica should know she knew. AND, the curteous thing to do is to accept the introduction, not debate the issue right then and there, in front of a bunch of people she had just met.

It seems *perfectly* explainable, and not that big of a deal. . . .

(I know you know this Tennant, I'm not picking on your post, just using it as a launching pad for my rant on why this topic seems to be such a non-issue. . . )
