Would you actually date....

Ross, Joey or Chandler?

Or, if you're a guy, Rachel, Phoebe or Monica?

A friend and I were recently talking about TV characters and whether or not they - not the actors - would be seriously considered dating, or marriage, material.

This has probably been covered before, but the characters have - hiccup - evolved over the past 7 seasons, so give your input.

Mine:

Ross - married [and divorced] three times, and while I would be interested in the fact he's a professor, even of paleontology, he acts way too immature.

Joey - struggling actor who sleeps around way too much and is not the best conversationalist

Chandler - middle management, no more commitment issues, but is a little too whipped, though....

Call me picky....

None of the guys arre my type. If I must pick one of them I'd pick Ross, before he hit his Mental Geller phase. I would never falk for Joey's "How'ya doin" style. An dneurotic, can't be serious for a minute, guys like Chandler isn't either. But they are fun to watch on TV or be friends with, but boyfriend material? nah.

I would date Chandler. He has a good job, is sweet and funny. He genuinely cares for who he's with, unlike Joey who is just out for some fun. And Ross who goes after younger women to make himself feel good.

I would totally date Chandler, who is definitely my type.

Interestingly enough, when the show first debuted, I had an enormous crush on Chandler, but over the last few seasons he's become so emasculated that he's hardly recognizable. He hasn't even looked the same. I don't blame this on Monica, per se--I think it was coming for awhile.

I think Matthew perry's problems had some effect on his character on the show. He looked different cos of it and probably wasn't up to delivering his best work while hooked on stuff.

Most of season 7, I found him quite boring.
