Rewriting due to extra season?

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood, but I think things have gone downhill fast since "crazy plate lady."

I'm wondering whether the writers have had to make a lot of quick changes since the intended last season has ceased to be.

The current episodes would have been written just before the announcement, I believe.

episode 915 was filmed on december 13th, so we would see any re-writes come into effect from episode 916/917 onwards, and my guess is that they will just continue on from where they were intending to leave off, unless of course they were intending to split the group up out of NYC

It seems likely to me that Rachel's co-worker was written in as a device to postpone the program-ending final reunion with Ross.

That didn't happen until 915 was in the can, so we won't see any such change of direction in storylines before February 20th.
