I mean, in the pilot, Rachel is introduced to Chandler like she has never met him. Yet in later seasons we find out that they all knew each other from high school/college. And then there was some flashback episodes where they didn't. I got confused after a while on the past of these characters.
Sort of like the Odd Couple when they kept changing how they met for the first time.

Remind me (and everybody else) never to write a successful pilot for a show. You have to introduce all the characters, get the context of the show and sell the concept - and then make sure that 10 years and 234 or whatever it was shows later every single detail of your pilot ties in with every detail of every show.

I didn't think it was that unusual that she wouldn't remember him. She only met him when he came home with Ross, and he looked a lot different then -- plus in the one with the prom and some other early flashbacks, Rachel in high school / college was pretty self-involved. IIRC, there wasn't a lot of interaction between her and Chandler during those times. I doubt if I'd remember more than maybe one or two people from high school if I saw them now, 30+ years later.
