Well I've been watching the show for five years and my tastes have changed. At first, I would have chosen Phoebe but as I've evolved along with the show, I like Monica better. The character has so many good qualities. She can cook and keeps an immaculate home, she has great earning potential and speaks intelligently, or at least smarter than Phoebe.

And as I've re-watched older episodes here, I notice that Monica has looked really hotter since about season five. Anyone agree with my asessment?

I would tend to agree with that. The episode where they play american football being one of the ones she looks fab in. She has a great figure and Phebe is just plain weird!

Hmmm, Monica looked great in series 2, 'specially 'The One with the Two Parties'.., see her in the green dress.

S2 was a big improvement over series one for Monica, her presentation and barnet.

Speaking of barnets, every single one of the character's hairstyles improved in S2 over S1.

No, CCA is too thin. Maybe with "baby weight", she'll look healthy again. Jennifer has looked too skinny in the past, but she doesn't now. Lisa has always looked fit. She's just pretty. I like Lisa's hair with a little more bounce and body than I do with it straight next to her face. That ironed look.

Of the guys.....although I don't like the character "Ross", David Schwimmer looks like my ex-husband, which is OK with me. I love MLB's smile and Matthew P. has the most wonderful sense of humor I've ever seen. I also like MP with a little weight on him, too. --- Kathy

And in real life Lisa Kudrow's really intellihgent (I think she has a masters in Chemistry..) so its a no-brainer. Dont get me wrong Courtney Cox is no dog, but she is number three

The mere thought of Monica makes my skin crawl. I would have picked Rachel during the first 3-4 seasons, before she grew her hair so long and got that skeletal looking face that she now has. (although the past 2 seasons she's looked a bit better again.) She is a very pretty woman, on and off that set. Once those changes happened, though, and ever since, I'd have to pick Phoebe. Although I am not much of a fan of her hair being so straight and hanging in her face all the time now, I think she is very attractive. She looks her best when she smiles, of course, as most people do, and I think her wardrobe is very complimentary to her features.

I agree with you that the Rachel character used to be prettier, especially in the first season. Here face had more, like babyface or whatever. Now she looks like Skeletor or something - she's lost any baby-fat that made her face look more attractive. Also I think a nosejob or something changed the sound of her voice since SE1.

As a man, I don't like the personality of the Rachel character from the way the writers portray her. She seems very selfish. For example, I don't think they ever showed it in any episode, but since Gunther has a crush on her, he prolly lets her run up a big tab at Central Perk without ever asking her to pay. If he did, she'd agree to pay, but act all surprised. Seems like a manipulative bitch if you ask me. So that makes her less attractive to me. Also, she steals Monica's clothes. (The Stain SE8 E07) +
