Tonight is the night which will go down in television history

It's Friends/SNL on NBC Vs. CBS's Survivor II and ABC's Whose Line Is It Anyway? block. Talk about tough decisions, I'm going to watch Friends/SNL this month to see what the hell will happen with the two shows teaming up to take on all comers starting tonight.

Of course, Tina Fey and every single writer on SNL has worked their fingers to the bone for the 20-minute editions of SNL to follow the 40- minute editions of Friends (my guess is that NBC will air extra ads to fill in the gaps) which starts airing tonight.

If Tim Brooks and Earl Marsh are reading this, this will be a Sweeps month that'll live in infimey (whatever the hell that meant since FDR coined that phrase at the start of WWII in 1941.)

I know that, but it was on Dec. 7, 1941 that FDR's reaction to the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor forced America to enter World War II. This year will mark the 60th anniversary.

Could you not stereotype Americans? I know that some people might get that fact wrong, but to say that "Americans are always getting that wrong" is offensive to me. I know you probably didn't mean it, but I don't like reading little digs at my country in a tv newsgroup.

America isn't perfect, and neither is any place else, I'm sure we all agree on that. There are better places to talk about it than a Friends newsgroup though.

Ok, try this as a non-offensive way of saying it - of all the people that get it wrong, most of them are American. That's not to say you all do, but that comparatively more do because of the "1941" thing.

Okay, I take it back. I thought that most people would read such a comment with levity, considering whom it was aimed at (if you've been in this newsgroup long enough you will have witnessed the shots taken-- and it hasn't been pretty at times, mind you). My apologies if I just offended an entire state. Personally, I have high hopes for the president's education plan as well. So let's just leave it at that.
