The policy is intended to protect businesses from honest mistakes. However, it seems to me that many online businesses are so quick to get products listed, that they get sloppy. (Some might even intentionally price a product without knowing the real price, but I would imagine this tactic is rare.)

In any case, it is illegal in the US for a company to automatically charge a higher price without your approval. They can, however, legally cancel your order. I think they are required to make a good faith effort to contact you about a cancellation, but you still have to go through the order process elsewhere--all for something you thought you already had.

I've been with DVD Express since they first when online more than 6 years ago and this is the first time I've seen them make a pricing error. They are generally more expensive and I was surprised to see them offer the season set at knock down price. I let the order remain at TAU, as I knew the price offered by Express was too good to be true. What to me looked very suspect was their claim that retail price was only $29. I had emailed Express more than a week ago querying the accuracy of the price and only received an email confirming the error yesterday. Those who have pre-ordered with Express will be receiving an email shortly with the revised price.

My apologies for the run around but I did put a warning when I posted a link. I though the price to be too good to be true and stayed put with TAU.

Mostly these days I used Express to check out titles and reviews. They have one of the best if not the best displays available. I then order DVDs from elsewhere mostly TAU.

Invariably in the process of rushing prices out mistakes are made. Express I believe made an honest mistake.

I have not (yet) received any such email and I checked the status of my order and the status is backorder. I hope that they are honoring the quoted price, and it seems to me that if they weren't, my copy would not need to be backordered. If they were refusing to ship unless the buyer came across with $60, I should think that many, many orders would be canceled and they would have an available copy that they could send me if I were willing to pay $60. So possibly they are going ahead and filling the orders. If they don't, there will probably be hundreds and hundreds of customers who will never buy anything from them again.

DVD Express has the distinction of being the first dvd online retailer and in my experience have always been honest with the customer. I do hope you are correct, though I've seen items going from pre-order to backorder without a single order being filled for a variety of valid reasons.

Hopefully someone who've had their order processed by Express might step forward and say so. No one has and that leads me to conclude that not a single order has been filled. I'm skeptical Express will complete the transaction at the mis-printed price though. In all fairness, Express can't be expected to "honor" mis-quoted prices esp. when they've clearly stated so in their T&C. Almost everyone whom have ordered half knew the prices were incorrect so it isn't fair to insist the seller stick to the mis-quoted price either. You have the option of going along with the order or cancelling it. I wish you the best of luck.

They made an offer, we accepted it. That's a contract.

In any case, it's too early to worry, my S1 set took some time to arrive.

The terms and conditions specified on their website form part of the contract you entered into.
