cap me baby

I know some of u must have some technical knowledge about video capturing so here goes. I want to start capturing some of my stuff (friends and other) to maybe put on a web site sometime. I want to capture VHS. I have a tv card (hauppage wintv 32) and i have thew vcr set up on it - but when i try to capture stuff the end result (when i play my cap. back ) is jolty but according to wintv it hasn't dropped any frames. Is my pc too slow (PII 400, 128mb RAM) or are there some guidelines i can follow - pls give me some advice or point me top a decent site with info on this.

No way - my 200Mhz with 64MB RAM manages it OK.

One thing though - what screen res are you using? 800*600 is about the limit for me, and 320*240 for capturing clips. It is very processor intensive, so capturing a lower picture size is probably the best way to go.

You could try visiting www.hauppauge.com to download the latest version of the driver too.

Cheers ppl - i cap at 320*240 anyway - i think it may just be time for a reinstall of windows (or at least a bit of a clean up )

I don't pretend to have a clue really, but could it be anything to do with the capture on your PC actually refreshing faster, so each frame appears quicker than it does on the TV screen, leaving a short gap before displaying the next, making it appear jolty?
