I've just watched Friends and frankly I wish I had missed it and still thought it would have been good. What the writers did to Ross's character was stupid. Okay - he may have acted somewhat like that but - HUNGOVER - he was ok with it?!? Charlie is too sophisticated a character to put up with such as that. Rachel and Joey were too silly - not "in love" silly, just his normal which didn't suit her. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give the episode a 2. The best part was when Phoebe showed Frank Jr. he didn't really want to part with either child - but that whole was way out there and not really tied in. Okay, M&C were in character - and their part was good I suppose. What did yall think?
i tend to think that ross was _exactly_ in character throughout the entire episode. he didn't really seem hungover at the end, which was quite odd, but, assuming he slept in really really late and perhaps woke up ok...
going under the assumption that charlie already knows all about ross and rachel's history together, i think perhaps that she is _sophisticated enough_ to understand why ross is a bit off and cut him some slack. however, as his current girlfriend, i would think charlie would feel a bit jealous that ross is so upset that rachel is seeing someone else.
i'm not really sure what you're referring to - rachel herself didn't have all that many lines throughout the episode, and those she did have didn't seem out of character to me. joey was about the same, except for his talk at the end with ross, and, again, he seemed in character as well.
i do believe that rachel has been dumbed down quite a bit over the last season or so (presumably to make her seem more compatible with joey) - perhaps that's where someof rachel's "silliness" as you put it comes from.
i'd have to strongly disagree - i'd give it around a 6, maybe 7. i loved the phoebe/frank jr. interaction too, and i thought chandler was absolutely hilarious (monica in a supporting role there ^_~). personally, i felt this was a better ep than last week's premiere (tho i loved the bit last week with chandler pulling joey out of rachel's room through the connecting door - classic).
