LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - After roughly 15 years at CAA, “Friends” star Courteney Cox Arquette has signed with WMA for representation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
John Fogelman, Gaby Morgerman and Jeff Gorin will handle her career, while she will continue to be managed by Cynthia Pett-Dante from Brillstein-Grey. In addition to acting, Cox Arquette is said to be interested in producing TV shows. Her contract with “Friends” producer, Warner Bros. Television expires at the end of the season. However NBC says its top priority is to secure the show for another season.
Cox Arquette’s film credits include “Scream,” and “3000 Miles to Graceland.”
So assuming this is true, what are your thoughts?
She has been with Creative Artists Agency for most of her career, the fact that she is changing now suggests she is unhappy with the direction her career is taking.
If she intends to produce, and act (in what I assume are new projects) would she have time to film Friends? I don't think so.
To me, it looks as though Courteney is unhappy with her career right now and is looking for a change. It seems unlikely that a 9th season of Friends is in her plans.
After all, she did tell Access Hollywood last year that the 8th season would be the last. IMO, this latest piece of information just adds yet more weight to that.
Opinions?
