New Channel E4

Channel 4 have finally admitted that Friends will be premiered on E4 not Ch.4 as some people have been speculating. I read this on the ITV text page for entertainment. It will be shown from January 2001 on E4 and then on Ch.4 from June 2001. They said that there is always a difference between the US and UK air dates! They're not wrong this time! Hopefully the videos (for the first 12 episodes) will be out as usual in the UK in March 2001 and I will spend the 'E4 subscription' on those instead!

Not only Friends but ER and The West Wing too.

They still haven't signed any contract to say the channel will be carried by Sky Digital yet though. Finger crossed it will be.

The dates for the UK are no worse than ever before on Sky. The dates for Channel 4 are slightly better. For the likes of me, this is the best outcome. No way is an E4 sub going to cost more than an entire season bought at full price on inflated price video.

I've heard that if you do have to subscribe to this channel then you'd pay around �5 a month, a bit similar to FilmFour!

Tom I mainly meant that I'm not paying for E4 so to wait until June will be a nightmare. I buy the videos for the series' anyway, so it won't be a problem buying those instead of the E4 sub. Plus I wouldn't pay for the sub as Friends and ER would be the only thing that I would want to watch on it and it just isn't worth it along with the SKY package I already pay for.

Sky One gets an easy ride for being a basic package filler these days. E4 would do well to explore that avenue if a lot of people are going to think like you (which is not unreasonable at all by the way, in case you think i'm being critical).

Tom I agree entirely, I would subscribe to E4 if they showed a lot more shows that SKY ONE have lost/show at the moment. I suppose we'll have to wait and see where E4 pops up, how much it will be and what will be on it
