Has anyone here (you know, in the colonies) been able to get a Friends DVD to play on their DVD drive of their computers? I had heard that some of these drives are "region free"

Mine work on my Laptop. I have an IBM Thinkpad, and it originally just played Region 1. So, I downloaded a different player (WinDVD, I think) and the DVD Genie, which lets you change the region for a variety of software players, and it works just fine.
