200th episode, extra large?

But that doesn't mean it is a double episode, does it? Then, again, it will be sold to the outer countries and reruns with just 20 minutes. I hate this extra large thing, why can't they do just double episodes like in season 1, 2 and 6; or the season finales? Audience things. Season 7 had 4 of these extra large episodes. Did season 8 have any extra large episode?

You're right in that episode #200 will be supersized. It's 40 minutes long including commercials, which means that it should be about 30 minutes without all the ads. (Then again, NBC has extended all the Friends episodes so far this season because they try to keep the audience so that Scrubs will get more viewers. This means that Scrubs usually starts at 8:33 p.m. instead of 8:30 p.m.) Personally, I think it's only fair that they make the landmark episode a little longer. AHHHHH That's why I had to set the VCR to record an extra minute. (I was already recording a little extra anyway.) I wondered what was going on there. At first I thought my clock was off, but it starts recording at the right time. I'm glad I finally decided to pay attention.

Maybe, years ago when you had to actually get up and go over to the TV to change channels it might have mad a difference, but now you just press a button on the remote.

Surely if someone wants to watch Scrubs they'll watch it and if they aren't particularly interested in it they won't watch it just because it comes on straight after Friends. Personally, I watch the programmes, not the channels.

How do the ratings work? The people they use to sample the data, does it matter if they are actually watching a show or does it just take into account the channel the TV just happens to be on at any one time?
