. Season premiere was funny and enjoyable, but I don't like Rachel and Joey together. They make less sense than Joey and Charlie.

Why do you feel Rachel and Joey have LESS chemistry than Charlie and Joey??? I think their [R&J] chemistry is absolutely wonderful! They know each other, they like each other AND they started out as FRIENDS. Isn't that what Joey wanted to find for himself, anyway??? Charlie and Joey was purely physical -- Rachel and Joey goes way, way beyond just physical. They genuinely care for each other as people. You make it sound like they just met in Barbados! ~~~ Kathy

Just incase you forgot, ROSS and RACHEL had a BABY together, AND they went out for a while and were in a serious relationship. I don't know about Charlie/Joey or Charlie/Ross or whatever but I DO know that Ross/Rachel makes A LOT more sense than Joey/Rachel.

Just because people have a baby together doesn't mean they should be in a romantic relationship with each other also. A baby doesn't equal love between the mother and father. In the case of Ross and Rachel, accidents happen. And Ross is way too much of a spineless whiney guy to be romantically involved with Rachel. Did you see how he freaked out about his stolen shampoo spilling in his bag?? My goodness... he's such a wimp.

The only thing that bothers me is that they felt the need to tell Ross.
Why?    R/R are NOT together, so why do they act like they need his
permission?    Ross knows that Joey has more than friendly feelings for
Rachel.    Just because R/R have a baby together doesn't mean they
should be together.   Hell,  they weren't even together when the baby
was conceived.    They haven't dated in years.

I don't think Joey/Rachel are going to ruin their friendship, if they
dated and it doesn't work out.
They have real feelings for each other and they should see if they can
have something together.   Obviously, it's not going to be long term and
Matt LeBlanc is going to have his own show.   But I don't care.  I want
this final season to be Joey/Rachel.

Joey is not a hypocrite because...

A. He did turn Rachel down until he saw Ross kissing Charlie. The rules are the same for everyone arden't they?

B. This is not the same situation as with Janice and Chandler. Janice was double timing Chandler with her husband. The woman was torn between the two and couldn't choose. Joey helped Chandler realize that he had to bow out because there is a chance of a proper family for her child with the husband.

C. Now, Rachel isn't in love with Ross and Ross isn't in love with Rachel. They haven't been able to work anything out despite all the chances they've had since and before the pregnancy. Rachel moved out because she couldn't stand to live with him. Joey turning her down, isn't going to put R&R together. She might just go on dating other guys. So, there is no reason for his to do so. U get? :)

While I'm at it, I might as well get the other annoying R&R argument out of my system - Joey can't end up with Rachel because MLB's going to get his own show.

Well, I know that J&R won't end up together but the spin-off is no reason to arrive at that conclusion. TPTB have said that we won't be seeing any lead up to the spin-off in Friends and that Joey won't take off where Friends ends. So, they can have Joey marry Rachel in Friends and start the new show stating that Ross went nuts and killed her for all we know.

I know you haven't seen the premiere (I was going to email you but I'm way too lazy ;)), which is why I'm telling you here. The key scene as to why J+R want to talk to Ross is because the other friends tell them that Ross wants to talk to Joey about Charlie before he goes any further and that if J+R considered themselves friends of Ross they should show the same sort of respect towards him. Anyway, best scene of the episode was when Joey is all giddy after his talk with Ross on the airplane because Ross told him that he might make Joey his best friend - he even tells Rachel that was the reason why he didn't say anything about them ("hey, I'm on edge on Chandler", followed by dirty laugh when Chandler happened to walk by :D )

They had a baby together because they got DRUNK and had sex. Just like in Las Vegas when they got DRUNK and got married. They went out for "a while" and was in a "serious" relationship?? Six weeks in to the "relationship", Ross had already picked out their children's names and where they would live!!! He was constantly jealous of anything Rachel wanted to do with her life that didn't include him. Have you forgotten about Rachel's first week at Bloomingdale's when Ross was convinced that Rachel was cheating on him with Mark? AND -- sending all that stuff to her office and everything? It was just like Chandler said -- bullets have left guns slower than it took Ross to fall into bed with someone else.

Plus, it just seems that Ross has gotten worse instead of better. Emma's birth didn't change him one bit. ~~~ Kathy

Exactly, Rachel knows how Joey likes the simple things in life, like food. Remember when she was talking with him on the plane before he was supposed to talk to Ross about them. "At least when your done, they will be serving dinner." Then when Joey couldn't tell Ross, Rachel figured it out.

When Joey and Charlie broke up, Ross and Charlie started less then an hour later. When Ross told Joey about it (after the fact), Joey said it was ok because him and Charlie didn't make sense. Joey may not have Ross's book smarts but he is definitely the best friend of the bunch.

I think Rachel likes the fact that she is has more booksmarts then Joey. Ross always has looked down on Rachel and never supported her in her career. Joey recognized that Rachel is a fashion professional and even asked her to help Charlie with fashion advice. Yes, he didn't know that Rachel had developed feelings for him and that being around Charlie made her nervous, but he genuially believes that Rachel is a talented fashion executive. Ross only sees Rachel as a prize worth winning.

Ross has always viewed Rachel as the prize of his adolescent obesssion. It is really sad. I've seen this in couples, too, mostly with the guy treating the girl this way (I'm not saying at all that only guys do this, just what I've personally seen). sure, joey ultimately failed to tell ross on the plane back from barbados about his thing with rachel, but i can forgive all that after being made uncomfortable about what ross said about him. but think about rachel - she obviously has all the history - not to mention a child - with ross, and she is foisting off the responsibility of talking to ross on joey, and then is angry with him when he fails to let her off the hook. then rachel tries to tell ross, fails because ross is a freak, and they're back to square one. at the end of the ep, rachel tells joey that it's his turn again to try to tell ross. he protests for a second, saying rachel should be the one to tell him, but then decides that the two of them should tell ross together. then, leading up to the final kissing scene, rachel seems to initiate all 3 of their kisses (tho i'm sure if she hadn't, joey would have).

to be perfectly honest, i think joey is too good for rachel. he may not be so smart, but that's not everything... R&R are perfect for each other - both jealous and posessive, both somewhat shallow. ^_~

I would rather her end up with Ross, but would be just as happy seeing her with someone else. Just not Joey. Joey is just not smart enough for her.

I'm not going to say that R&R belong together, but if they finally made Ross normal again, I think it could work.

I don't buy Rachel being in love with Joey. I see no chemistry, I can't look at the screen when they are on together.

I wasn't sure how I would feel about M&C together, but when it happened, I loved it! J&R - No way! Not buying it.

I totally buy it! If they can get past this Ross "thing" and how he feels about it (like that really shouldn't matter), I think they are great together.
