Janice's laugh

Do you think a person with a laugh like Janice's has no control over the way they sound when they laugh, like it's just something you're born with, or do you think in some ways it's an expression of someone's personality? That's something I've always wondered about. We all know people like, well like Janice, who have these laughs that, to put it charitably, are not audibly appealing. Is it that: (1) they don't realize the laugh is annoying; (2) they realize it but can't do anything about it; or (3) they realize it but figure, hey, this is who I am and so I shouldn't have to worry about it and it won't bother the people who really matter.

I think the writers *think* her laugh is funny. Because I saw Maggie once on a Love Boat The New Wave episode and she has a really normal non-annoying voice/laugh.
