Hello all! The taping was awesome! They were all wonderful and it was a great, great episode IMHO! Forgive me if the scenes are slightly out of order, but part of the episode was pre-taped because David was not there.

They showed the first part of the episode on the monitors, but I believe there are already spoilers for part 1. Well, the episode leaves off with Chandler wanting to propose to Monica, but not being able to. He decides to pretend to be dead-set against marriage, so when he eventually does propse it will be a surpirse.

Richard shows up at Monica's restaurant and tells her he still loves her.

Part 2:

Monica is shocked. Richard continues to tell her that he still loves her and wants to marry her and even have kids. Monica reminds Richard that she's with Chandler now, and Richard says he knows but he can offer her things that Chandler is not willing to. Monica says that isn't true and says that *she* is actually the one who doesn't want to get married.

The next scene is Phoebe and Rachel at Central Perk. They are happy for Monica and Chandler but Rachel can't help but be 98% happy and 2% jealous. Phoebe says she is 90% and 10%. In case she doesn't find love, Rachel wants a back up guy-- like if they're both 40 and not married, then they marry each other. Phoebe says her back-up is Joey. Joey enters dressed like a captain because he received a yacht from the auction in part 1.

The next scene is Monica and Chandler at a pizza place. Monica asks if Chandler ever wants to get married. He says be probably never does. Chandler explains how marriage is unnatural and says that pigs mate but never get married. Monica then asks what are they doing if he never intends to get married. Chandler calls her a "mantrap" tells her to quit pressuring him.

The next scene is Captain Joey in his apartment Monica enters upset. Joey tells her to tell the captain what's wrong. Monica says she feels like she is going no where in her relationship with Chandler. Joey says that "Chandler is not fellow who will take a wife." Monica asks if that's boat talk. Joey goes on to say that Chandler is against marriage. Monica says that there other people who want to marry her-- like Richard. Joey is shocked to hear that Richard wants to marry Monica so he then tries to tell her that Chandler loves marriage, but Monica doesn't listen and leaves.

Joey (still dressed like a captain) is on the phone at Chandler and Monica's, he is asking Gunther if he has seen Chandler then he asks what kind of muffins they serve at sea. Then Chandler enters. Joey asks where he has been. Chandler responds, "I was making a coconut phone with the Professor." Joey tells him that he was been looking for him because Richard told Monica that he loves her and wants to marry her. Chandler is pissed and says that he should go and kick Richard's ass. He asks Joey to help him, but Joey thinks that getting both their asses kicked is not a good solution. Joey tells Chandler to just find Monica. Chandler grabs the ring and runs out.

I believe the next scene was a pre-taped scene with Ross at his apartment. Rachel stops by and asks him to be his back-up marriage guy. Ross says that would like to but he is already Phoebe's back-up. Rachel tells him that Phoebe has Joey as a back-up.

The next scene is Monica arriving at Richard's apartment. She doesn't know why she is there. Monica says she is upset at Chandler. Richard asks if she ever thought about him after they broke up. Monica said that she thought about him a couple months ago because she didn't like her new eye doctor. Richard then asks her if she even thought about him in a non-eye doctor way. She says no because getting over him was one of the hardest things she's ever done, so she doesn't let herself think about him.

The next scene was another pre-taped scene. Rachel and Phoebe are at the coffee house, Ross and Joey burst in telling Phoebe to choose her back-up. Phoebe says that she can't decide-- Ross is good with kids and Joey has a boat. They then want to become Rachel's back-up. Phoebe tells them not to be hasty. Rachel then says she'll write Joey's name and then Ross's name and then they'll pick a name and stick with him as a back-up. Phoebe draws Ross and Rachel draws Joey. But then they switch.

Monica is still at Richard's apartment. She comments on how it looks like grown-up's apartment. She then says that what she should want-- a grown-up. Richard agrees and says she should go for one with a license to practice medicine and mustache. Monica says she wants a guy who will come to her work and tell her he loves her not someone who talks about pig sex over lunch. She goes on to say that it's not fair how Richard didn't want to marry her then and how Chandler doesn't want to marry her now. Richard hugs her and comforts her. Monica is confused and says she needs to leave and figure stuff out.

Richard's apartment- there's a knock at the door Richard gets up to get the it and it's Chandler. Chandler asks where Monica is and that he is not afraid of Richard. Richard says she's not there. Chandler is pissed because Richard told his girlfriend he loves her and made her think about stuff. Richard tells Chandler he is not willing to offer Monica things that he can. Chandler says that he was going to propose but pretended to be against marriage so it would be a surprise. Chandler goes on to say that it's not fair because he and Monica are meant to be together and that Richard had lost his chance. Richard tells Chandler to go get Monica and not let her go. Chandler thanks Richard and leaves, he runs back in because he forgot the ring.

Chandler is in the hallway about to go into their apartment. Joey comes out and tells him that Monica packed and left to her parents. She doesn't want Chandler not to call. Chandler tells Joey how he should have told Monica that it was all a mistake and that Chandler doesn't really feel that way. Joey says he tried but Monica didn't believe him. Chandler feels he just messed it all up. Joey says he's sorry. (How I've described the scene does not do justice to how Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc played it. They played it with real emotion and both are near tears.)

Chandler enters the apartment which is dimmed and decorated with candles all around. Monica is standing there and tells Chandler, "Well you wanted it to be a surprise." Chandler looks to Joey who smiles and quietly leaves. Chandler walks to Monica who bends on one knee. She attempts to propose but gets caught up in tears and tells him that girls are not good at this. Chandler gets down on his knees too and tells her how happy she has made him and that he hopes she will give him the rest of their lives to try to make her just as happy. He asks her to marry him and she says yes. They kiss and hug. (The scene was done so beautifully by Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox Arquette. It is a sweet and beautiful moment. I was trying hard not to cry!) Through the door Joey in an emotional voice yells to let them in. Phoebe, Joey and Rachel enter. Monica says they're engaged. They all hug. Phoebe breaks it up and was it's wrong because Ross isn't there. Rachel says that Ross has done this 3 times already, so he knows what it's like. They all hug again.

That's it. A wonderful end... glad it wasn't a cliffhanger.

Here is an info from EW :

'Friends' In Deed The ''Friends'' cast negotiates for a huge pay hike. A behind-the-scenes report on the latest bargaining tactics

by Lynette Rice

On the night of April 14, inside a secure Burbank soundstage, the cast of ''Friends'' will tape their season finale. Monica will act neurotic, Joey will say something dumb, Phoebe will say something REALLY dumb, and that'll be it. Forever. ''Friends'' no more.... Okay, we admit it: That's an extreme worst-case scenario -- but it is possible. As the sixth season draws to a close, NBC's six comely sitcom stars still haven't renewed their about-to-expire contracts. The problem: They want a raise. A big one. This season, each actor earned $125,000 per episode. For next fall, insiders report, they're pushing for as much as $800,000 per show, plus back pay for this season's 24 shows.

Just as shockingly, some sources say the mastermind behind the Friends' hardball tactics is none other than the strikingly UNditsy Lisa Kudrow. ''She's the group leader,'' says an agent familiar with the negotiations. ''They all rely on her a lot.'' Some of the cast -- specifically the three guys (Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry) -- wanted to renegotiate last May, a year before their four-year contract expired, says a source on the show. The gals (Kudrow, Jennifer Aniston, and Courteney Cox Arquette) preferred to stall. ''Lisa thought that by waiting till the 11th hour, the network would be panicked, and it would help them get leverage,'' says another agent.

The waiting game will likely pay off. Though ''Friends''' ratings have dipped (the show averages 20.8 million viewers, down 13 percent from last season), it's still TV's No. 1 sitcom and NBC's Thursday-night anchor. ''We want 'Friends' to come back and are hopeful it will happen... it would be a true shame if this can't be resolved,'' says an NBC spokeswoman. And no doubt the network wants to seal a deal before May 15, when it announces its fall schedule to advertisers.

Still, NBC probably would share the cost of a mammoth salary bump -- which could amount to as much as $97 million next year -- with Warner Bros. Television, ''Friends''' production company. Considering the show's reruns are expected to generate nearly $1 billion for Warner in their first five years, the cast's demands aren't as outrageous as they may seem. After all, even Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt snagged $1 million per episode in 1998 for NBC's infinitely weaker ''Mad About You.'' Says one (admittedly actor-friendly) agent: ''They haven't been treated fairly up to this point. They are so underpaid it's ridiculous.'' (Warner declined to comment.) And -- before you feel too sorry for the poor kids -- consider that each actor owns about a half percentage point of the show's syndication fees, which could come to a not-so-shabby $5 million apiece.

But on the off chance the talks were to break down, ''Friends'' would go off the air with an anticlimactic whimper. A source says the season finale, airing May 18, features nary a wedding or funeral -- though Tom Selleck does return, apparently to cause some tension between lovebirds Monica and Chandler. ''It's a strong season ender,'' says someone on the show, though hardly a series stopper. And that's something perfectionist Monica just would not stand for.

SO. I think that they made this end if the negocoiation will "works" or not !

See you Equedvil our new website http://www.friendshome.net

Hang on a minute, folks. Past experience has shown that they film cliffhangers AWAY from the audience, and David being away only increases the possibility of that happening. There could very easily still be a fiasco cliffhanger in store that we don't know about. Personally, if you ask me, this one sounds like a fanfic gone haywire, which is never a good sign. Don't count your chickens before they're hatched, as it were.

And another thing: I think most C+M fans are just *really* relieved that none of the rumours about them breaking up in the finale came true. So let us just be happy! :)

And I think this finale revives the R+R saga too, in a way. The whole "back-up" plan sounds like a really cute story to me! I think we can start crossing our fingers again. (Hey, I'm optimistic...)

True, but I don't see how they could make a cliff hanger outta that. Except maybe, after they hug Rachel see's Ross across the way, goes over and tells him the good news and gets so emotional they kiss or remember what they had or SOMETHING like that, which would be pretty ok to me but I can't see it happening.

Well, to be honest, all I was really saying is not to presume this is it until we actually see the episode, because these people are notorious for pulling last-minute stunts, and for them to present what appears to be a finale which is neatly wrapped up and tied with a ribbon bow in light of that strikes me as strange, to say the least.

Tina, for once I think there is a very good reason for them to make it all nice and neat. They really, really aren't sure there will be another season. This was written as the possible, final end. Closure for the only ongoing storyline the writers care about. And a very, very small sop to the Roschelites. I am deeply disappointed that Friends may be ending with an episode that David couldn't even be bothered to schedule himself for, but I think it says volumes about the Ross/Rachel storyline. They taped what might be the last episode ever and said Ross didn't really have to be in it.

Well, I guess this will bitterly disappoint Tennant...Phoebe and Rachel switched.

And once again, Richard Burke gets to come across as a really nice, decent man.

Gee, for all that "Ross, you re-love her" stuff at the beginning of the season, he viewed the idea of being Rachel's backup pretty casually, didn't he?

Hellooooo!!! After getting drunk in Vegas, Claire Abraham doodled cat whiskers on his/her face and miaowed this little lot at a statue...

I agree, but my main point is that there could still be a cliffhanger - just because there wasn't one filmed at the taping doesn't automatically mean there *won't* be one, as past experience has shown us. Indeed, if the cast suddenly do a complete U-turn and get in an orderly line to sign up for more seasons, I wouldn't be surprised if they filmed an alternate ending, or already had one up their sleeves.

Awwwwww, poor Tennant. :) (I shouldn't be so mean, though - he *did* give me some good advice on auditions yesterday. Not that I got to use it in the end, of course...)

Unfortunately, it comes at the risk of turning the episode into a complete tack-fest. Actually, the whole thing sounds contrived - like I said somewhere else, it just sounds like a fanfic gone haywire.

I thought you were going to hate that one. :) But then again, he *did* just break up with Lizzie.

Actually, I'm not all that bothered about C&M getting hitched in itself. It just sounds like it's going to be brought about pretty poorly.

And am I the *only* one who's concerned that these two episodes are going to be shown together, but that there's absolutely no connection between Ross, Rachel, Joey and Phoebe's storylines between the two halves? Sounds like very shoddy writing if you ask me - under *no* circumstances should this be passed off as the series finale.

Hi guys! I've just fetched this out of my spoiler archive...

In article , Tina wrote:

After you guys discussed this, does anybody now know for certain? There was only one cliffhanger, and that was at the end of 624 when Richard tells Monica that he still loves her. Bet you hated the editing here, Tina, for Sky moved the commercial break to earlier, leaving a fade to black & in again.

Anyway, could it be that a cliffhanger or some alternate endings were filmed for the end of 625, then never used? It was very curious that Ross was not there at the end. People have too lightly dismissed this as DS being away, but they could've earlier filmed an ending including Ross if they'd wanted to. Ross's absence must mean something.

It did! My first thought was that Rachel wrote "Joey" on both napkins, but then Phoebe read out "Ross" and I went wow here will soon come the cliffhanger, but then the girls swapped. Boring.

Shucks, you're too kind, Tina. We had a lovely day together, you & I, chatting about the daft things that happen at auditions. If you really mean to break into the business, and you have the talent, then you'll make it I'm sure - and then you can repeat all our audition mistakes...

The episodes do sound dreadful as spoilers don't they? The only spoilers that were interesting reads *were* fanfics, such as Ross & Rachel fixing the kitchen sink together. In the event, MP/CCA/TS brought it all to life, and if you hadn't known anything in advance, then the tension was amazing. Of course afterwards it all seems inevitable, but *my* afterwards was at 10pm last night, not in April.

We never saw the break-up! Not properly! Just Ross in the street a bit later, then Elizabeth throwing a water balloon at him! Did they really break up, or did they stage this for someone who was watching????

As for Ross & Rachel, they should never have filed the divorce papers, just parted until they could sort themselves out. No matter what titbits the writers dangle, it ain't gonna happen until BKC leave.

Let's wait & see... :)

Joey's story went through both, maybe we'll see some maritime episodes next year. I wouldn't say the writing was shoddy, but after wrapping up the Elizabeth story, the other four only had filler stories to do. You are quite correct in that 624/625 wasn't as momentous as it might have been for a season finale, but maybe for a *series* finale it was quite apt, a nice happy peaceful ending...

Anyone who has read my posts during the short time I've been posting here knows that I'm a huge R&R fan and I've always been optimistic about them. But today I was completely let-down. I felt that there were justified reasons to be optimistic. Ross broke up with Eliz. in the first 1/2 hour so that leaves him with a 2nd 1/2 hour of no storyline. Rachel didn't really have any kind of real storyline in the first part and certainly nothing that would carry over to the 2nd. C&M was going to be the focus in the finale, but something ala TOW Ross's Wedding Part II could happen where we're swerved with a R&R reunion like what happened with C&M. I started reading the spoiler and I felt hope because of the Rachel wanting someone, but when I finished I thought, "That's it?" Four characters ended up with nothing more than a filler storyline with nothing anywhere near meaningful happening. I was extremely disappointed. I started the season thinking that R&R would be together within a few weeks of the season premier. When it didn't happen, I thought it would surely happen in November. When it didn't happen, I thought it HAD to happen in February with the Jill storyline. When it didn't happen I convinced myself that it would absolutely happen in May because of the Bruce Willis thing. When that fizzled I thought it would happen in the last 1/2 of the finale.

I prepared myself for the "off" chance that it would merely be some kind of R&R cliffhanger again, but I was OK with that because it would give me reason to still have hope and more importantly want to watch the episodes with Bruce Willis because it would be tough knowing that nothing would come of it and there would be no reunion. But now I really don't want to watch those episodes. I probably still will, but I won't make a point of it. I'll watch the finale because by then I'll convince myself that there is a chance that they may have pre-taped a R&R reunion because if they pre-taped all of David's scenes, why not one more that will totally surprise the viewers?

I'm sick of being let-down, but I'm sure I'll let it happen again with watching the finale because of the off and probably unrealistic chance that they did tape something else. I guess I'm a sucker for punishment. I truly wish I was a C&M fan because then I would be happy. Even when things look bad they end up good for them. It's unbelievable to me how that happens. They really are the total antithesis of R&R. I think this finale was a mistake because it carries a lot of consequences for the show and I don't have enough confidence in the writers to believe they can handle them. But that's for another topic I guess. Looking back at this clip show we had, I think we can maybe now see it as Chandler and Joey's swan song.

Helena wrote:

Maybe, but probably not. There doesn't seem to be much room to fit one in.

They've had plenty of chances to get them together the proper way and they didn't feel the need to do it then, so I don't see season 7 as being any different. If anything, it will just be a quickie reunion only just as the series ends. Next season will probably be filled with C&M preparing for their wedding and the others getting the scraps. Monica will obsess and screech preparing. Chandler will "maintain" her. Joey will find a way to screw up as best man. Phoebo will be there. Maybe she'll even have a date this year. Rachel will attempt to design Monica's dress, but will have trouble working with her. And Ross will have to deal with his mother now looking at him as the screw-up who will never have a family. Oh, and he'll probably get another divorce..........because his life isn't messed up enough.

I think it's a nice thought.

If this was written as a finale episode its a good one but its not really a finale. I'd like to see the finale rapping up most of the stories and returning to its roots, IE: Ross and Rachel... I know its an old concept now and people don't care but I really just want them to have a happy ending and I think its gotta be in the series finale. What if for the last episode they had someone new rush into the coffee house, and its as if the whole thing starts all over again, or a girl in a wedding dress rushes in and Rachel takes her in or soemthing?

Claire AbrahamTinaalt.tv.friends

Actually, this just occurred to me: C&M fans had better hope and pray that this was the last episode. The implications of events in the finale NEVER pan out in the first episodes of the following season.

First season: Rachel and Ross did not hook up at the airport. Second season: No cliffhanger, but Chandler and Janice did not stay together. Third season: Ross ended up with neither girl. Fourth season: Ross ended up divorced, and he didn't get Rachel. Fifth season: Monica and Chandler did not marry, and Ross and Rachel ended up divorced.

I really want a season 7... even though I am not a R+R fan.. they are meant to be together.. and if it is done in a good way.. it will be a very positive addition to the show.

seeing as TOW Chandler can;t cry dropped major hints about R+R.. there's a lot of things that could and may very well happen

I love C+M... but other feel equally about Ross and Rachel. they need to have some sort of conclusion to them.. a positive one would be prefered probably.

Dylan HorowitzHelenaalt.tv.friends

Ahhhh read on...

They always do that! Not one season has passed that hasn't contained at least 3 tender moments suggesting R+R are getting back together soon, and its never followed up. They don't have a master plan but they are dangling a relationship many many fans love in front of us on a fish hook. I really hope season 7 brings them together and I hope season 7 IS the last, they are coming full circle, things are changing and its about time they went out on top and not a pathetic washout that can't even get into the Top 20.

Consider the fact that R+R were only together for 1 season and it shows what a pretty good job the writers were doing because so many people came to care for these characters as a couple. I personally am not a C+M fan, I dunno why I just don't like them being together and couldn't care less if they both broke up tomorrow, even though they've been together 2 seasons, maybe its a reflection on how the writing has changed or something. I really do feel next season must end it all with one big finale about R+R and bring the show full circle, but not give the impression, well oh now its over they all die... its gotta let us know that life goes on.

Maybe if there actually isn't one, they'll eventually film a R+R reunion but they couldn't do it yesterday anyway cause David wasn't there and they'll get such an audience reaction they *can't* cut it out! My opinion is, in TPTB's mind's eye, they all *will* sign. So, they take their time to make things happen. But since there's always a teeny weeny tiny chance this would be the very last ep, they managed to write an acceptable end to the show to almost everyone. Hey, the backup thing was not *that* bad. I hope that made sense.

indeed yes.

Hang on - am I missing something? Even if the cast don't sign for a seventh season, arn't they going to do 4 more episodes to tie things up? Or have I misread previous posts? I do apologize if I am wrong here, but if they are going to film 4 more episodes, then isn't there still hope for a 'better' conclusion than this spoiler implies?

Just my opinion.

I was not referring to the above spoiler - I was referring to the below information that was posted in another thread under the title "Entertainment Tonight". What I was referring to in this thread, was the fact that people seem to think that this spoiler 'could' be the last episode of friends, but what I got from the following info was that if the cast decide not to sign for another season, they will film another four episodes to tie the show up. Am I misinterpreting this or not?

Ah, yet more tabloid trash. People, get real - this year, Friends is no different from any show which at the end of a season may possibly be cancelled. And if any of those shows are cancelled, do *they* go around filming extra episodes in addition to the regular season to "wrap things up"? No, of course they don't. And I think Larissa will back me up when I say that the writers are definitely NOT fond of the idea of writing more than 25 episodes in a season. People just have to face the fact that this could very well be the end, as crap as it is.

Backup! :) Yes, they work hard enough already and would absolutely hate to write more than 25 episodes per season. I think part of the reason why there are all these rumors about how there could be "four more special episodes!" is that people don't want to accept that Friends could be over.

I think you've hit the nail on the head - but the fact of the matter is that at the end of the day, Friends is *just* another TV show, it's not going to receive any special send-offs just because it's Friends.

Oh sorry, I didn't see it.

As i said before, it is plain STUPID on the part of warner bros and nbc, letting the cast hold out this long. The finale isn't a finale. It's just insurance! It doesn't make any sense to me that they would allow this to go on for this long. And in the end, who's gonna get stiffed?? The FANS. I, personally am very upset about this "finale." The writers need to do SOMETHING with r and r. At this point i don't even care what. (yes i do. I want them together. I'm just mad.)

I would like to grumble about this finale too. $#%$#^$#! I feel really let down. If they didn't want us to have hope of an R & R reunion, why oh why did they keep stringing us along??? What kind of sadistic delight did these writers get in doing this? Over and over again! It's totally ridiculous. I've been watching the C & M show for 2 whole seasons patiently and this is what happens? Maybe there will be another season and maybe there will be hope but right now I really don't have any faith left.

Sorry, I just had to vent!

Laurie -- I don't want to rain on your parade, C & M fans. I just don't see why they can't make us R & R fans happy, too.

Claire AbrahamLauriealt.tv.friends

I think that's a pretty good question. It isn't so much that R&R are over, as that the writers keep playing the R&R card to get our attention. They did this most recently with TOW Chandler Can't Cry, and they had us all drooling with Ross' confession that he would like to think it possible to get Rachel back some day. And then they just dumped it. I know Marta Kaufmann knows how dear this topic is to some people's hearts. I saw an interview where she said that some of her own neighbors were so obsessed with Ross and Rachel they'd stop her to ask what was going to happen. They are doing this on purpose and it's really becoming kind of hurtful. Chandler and Monica fans have gotten present after present after present after present after present with *no* problems of any duration, and we have gotten nothing but the bait and switch for three years.

And you know what? Even if the show does go on for one last year, it won't be any different. These writers don't like Ross and Rachel. They don't like Ross himself at all. They can't make Rachel funny without him, so C&M, who have become very dull, take over everything as the other four characters, and the show, die.

Yes. Our loyalty is totally ridiculous.

Claire Abraham wrote:

I think a few things are much more clear to me now after reading the spoiler today. 1st, the producers aren't certain of another season, but yet left us with no R&R reunion. That tells me it isn't all that important for them to satisfy the loyal fans they've USED over the years. They would have had a C&M cliffhanger if they knew it would continue because it worked perfectly with the storyline. 2nd, they care just as little about Phoebe and Joey. They have nothing sustantial in terms of closure. Joey's tv show is a sure failure and he'll never be able to pay for the boat. That's not very solid closure in my book. Phoebe has .... well there's.......no wait...... yeah, she has nothing. That's what an Emmy gets you I guess. With this finale, they could have used it not only as closure to the show, but as a springboard to next if there is one. They could have essentially cleaned the slate. C&M would be engaged, R&R could be together starting the rest of their lives together and P&J could have grown into adulthood and be responsible adults. They could have entered a new era in their lives where they are really grown-ups now. The way it is, C&M are entering that era with 4 rather pathetic friends alongside who need to grow up. If I'm Chandler or Monica and the other 4 don't show some growth, there is no way I would waste my time with them. They don't need to, they have each other. You don't just hang out with a group of friends when you get engaged and married and to show it otherwise will come across as unrealistic and pathetic. And 3rd, it's no longer C&M vs. R&R. That whole illusion is gone. I used to think that there was a sense that C&M fans felt like underdogs and that certainly isn't the case anymore. C&M's relationship is a given just like the C&J relationship used to be. They aren't going to have the tension or anything. There just gonna be there and it needs to be accepted. Like the sun rising from the east. I don't agree with how it's been handled, but it's not my choice. R&R's opponent is the producers, but the producers just don't care. This part of it isn't the writing. It's BKC's decision what happens with R&R and they don't seem to be all that interested in their reunion. It will be hinted again and dropped again. Maybe they'll get together, but only because they are forced to with a definate end to the show because anything less obviously won't trigger it. In my mind, this finale is just another example of a lost opportunity.

Jay- who's not very certain that he can keep interested enough to care about a possible season 7. And that is sad.

But deep deep down, you're sad. DEEP deep deep down. <g>

Yeah, they're protecting themselves in case the show has to end, and even if it doesn't, the marriage will draw many fans in. This sounds like a *good* finale (maybe even one of the best).

Sounds great.

Agreed. It was a great episode (IMHO), even though David couldn't be there.. only two pre-taped scenes.

So she goes on about "the government" and "big brother" (stuff Chandler said in part 1), while Richard has a "huh?" look on his face. "Don't you have the internet?"

I think this was actually broken up into two scenes.. The first ends in Phoebe saying that she's more like 90/10. IIRC, the part about the friends-marriage-deal comes after Monica leaves Joey's apartment.

That scene opens with Rachel saying that she's sure she can find someone, which is why she's 80% happy for C&M, and only 20% jealous, but thinks it would be nice to have some kind of deal with a good friend, for back-up, which was when Phoebe says she's already got Joey as a backup.

Phoebe says they shook on it, but it wasn't how Joey wanted to seal the deal.

Joey: "Chandler LOVES marriage!!" Monica: "But you just said that...." (forget exact wording) Joey: "You got that from what I said?"

This scene ends in one of two possible jokes, both similar in nature, regarding Joey's boat.

Ross said almost the same thing about Phoebe as she did about Joey--that she wanted more than just a handshake to seal the deal.

Phoebe: (Looking at napkin) "Ross." Rachel: (Looks at napkin) "Joey." Rachel: (Hands napkin to Phoebe, while taking hers) "All right, let's switch." Phoebe: "Yeah."

[snip]

Um.. Typo, I think. Chandler asks Joey why he didn't just tell her about Chandler's plans. Joey says he did, but she wouldn't believe him, and said that she doesn't want Chandler to call, even though Joey thinks he should.

I think next season will be Monica (or Courteney Cox Arquettes) pregancy. Oh my god I am still crying. Is there any news on next season anyway?
