It's a TV Show - get a life

Come on people. This will be the last season. It'll be over - you'll cry for a month and then find a new show.

I believe it is still just speculation. They will probably negotiate with NBC for more money and the result of that negotiation will determine if there will be more seasons. This being the last season rumor is based on a comment that Jennifer Aniston made. The comment could be a hint that this is the last season or it could be a bargaining strategy.

Anyone have more information on this?

Once this is over - you can actually go outside and see what we call sun-light...Come on...I used to enjoy the show - for about the first 3-4 seasons, then it got silly - Ross got whiney...

See the difference between that and the sandwich is that in The Pilot, Ross *really* had something to be upset about. *That* Ross, you don't call "whiney". You cut him some slack, which is what his friends did.

Sure he wasn't up, but he wasn't running around screaming at everyone about some stupid sandwich. Of course, the principle is that people shouldn't take other people's food, and I'm not minimizing that either. But in the grand scheme of things, you perhaps mention it once and then let it pass. You handle it and move on. For crying out loud, you can always make another sandwich, etc., etc.

Having one's marriage ripped apart is quite another thing. It is appropriate to seek sympathy from one's friends, as well as help in getting through it.

Don't misunderstand this, Priya. Nobody knows what will happen, and all this is merely preliminary manoeuvring. Considering the amount of money at stake (Friends is a huge hit around the world, unlike other shows that are popular in America), then as long as the writers can deliver the goods, there's a real good chance of the show continuing with its cast of six, so don't panic just yet.

Hmm, I thought I once read, that the cast had agreed on "all or none", meaning, that they have an internal agreement, that should one leave the show, the others would stop as well. Even though no-one knows, my guess would be, that they end the show. Would be a pity, since I enjoy the show more than ever, but let's wait and see how Season 8 will turn out. I also think, that for most of the cast, it would be better to sign another contract. No offense of the actors, but I doubt, that e.g. David Schwimmer or Matt LeBlanc will have notable movie careers. Besides of the Scream Trilogy, Courtney Cox didn't have that many hit movies either. Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow had a couple of good movies, but not really blockbusters. But then again, who knows...

The actor's contracts expire at the end of season 8. so its not unreasonable to say that season 8 is probably the last until such time when (or if) they sign new contracts.

people would start classing it as a soap. Just because a show is old, it doesn't mean it's bad, I know the best of tmes may have passed but I'm sure the writers won't do another "season 6er". Just think we'll be moving into double figures with episode numbers, 1001 etc...ahhhhh
