Does Central Perk really exist?

Hi All. I am wondering if the coffee shop Central Perk really exists in the West Village? I am not from NYC but I am thinking of before I leave for Malaysia this summer that I will be able to check out Central Perk and take photograph or something.

No it doesn't really exist....I know they based Central Perk on another coffee shop in the West ViliIage..but i don't know what it is called.

I'm from New York, and I don't think it really exists, BUT, my little gang of friends did hang out at a great bar (pool table and all) that turned into a trendy little coffee house. It was over in Tribeca, quite close to the West Village.
