Emma?

Where was Emma at the start of last night's C4 episode? They ended up all being in Central Perk together with no mention of a babysitter?

after some time, those things become routine as you get to know the right people (babysitters)...

Pregnancy and the subsequent birth of the child are almost always sitcom plot devices, and usually fairly desperate ones at that (just wait, the same thing will happen next season on FRASIER). The baby is usually dropped from subsequent episodes, as if it never existed (for example, Rachel sure spends a lot of time at the coffee shop WITHOUT Emma... I can't believe she bothers to get a babysitter just to hang out with her friends at Central Perk!).

Maybe it is more like a nanny then a babysitter.   The nanny may work
everyday between certain hours no matter what.   If Rachel takes care of
Emma during that time then she still has to pay the nanny for that time
Rachel is with Emma so Rachel is just using all the time she can with the
nanny.

We certainly saw Rachel and Ross choosing a nanny for Emma during season 9: at first, in ep. #906 a male nanny, whom Ross didn't like because he was too sensitive, then a lesbian girl whom Joey was really attracted to (don't remember exactly which episode #).

I don't know that it was so much an idle boast as it was a expression of his desire to be in that situation.

Are you really two-timing (or three-timing) if you haven't expressed an interest in being exclusive with any of them? I can see that Ross had issues dating two women at the same time, but I don't see that as a moral issue.

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more.

The convention on ATF is that new episodes must be protected by spoiler space until they have been aired on network TV in Britain, which covers most fans in other countries as well. Sadly, many Americans seem to be ignorant of this, wrongly believing that ATF is only for them, not the whole world - alt.tv.friends.northamerica is their own newsgroup.

I remember people talking about how all the friends had nothing to do all day but sit around when real people were always busy- they called it 'time pornography', but come on! Real people can't get 22 minutes to themselves over the course of two weeks! You can't get half an hour away from your kid over a two week period!
