Are they allowed to advertise in Friends? because I've seen joey and roos wearing nike and other brands on the show but in the opening titles of 409 the nike swoosh on reoberts trainers is blurred out.

All tv shows in America has product placement by different companies in their shows, including Friends. It is done good though and not so in your face as the regular commersial breaks.

Annica's right, If you notice in some older episodes, there was always half empty (or for you optimists half full) bag of doritos on top of the fridge in Joey and Chandlers Appartment. Also they mention a couple of real brands here and there instead making up companies.

Monica has got a very nice Bang & Olafson CD player between the window and her bedroom. She had the older version but then as soon as the new one came out she got that too. My hunch is that the change-over is in Season 4 - if anyone knows when please tell me.
