Friends ratings down, Survivor's ratings up...again.

I know, I know, Friends ONLY lost a .4 rating and Survivor ONLY gained a .3 rating, but considering Friends now only leads Survivor by 3 points in the ratings, they could be well on their way to getting passed.

And for anyone who saw the show last night, there's reason to be concerned. It was another poor episode as the Tulsa storyline is obviously not going to yield creatively when they pull up a shark porn situation. Joey has now officially lost all recollection of the 8th season, how ironic that producers use the excuse that his storyline was used to "watch him grow" relationship-wide...you could see no evidence of that last night. Phoebe had a good storyline last night, but I just don't see Mike lasting on the show. Ross had a dumb storyline again, and I must have blinked because I missed Rachel in the show.

If the following week's ratings are based on the quality of the previous show, I can't imagine what they will be like in two weeks...

First of all, I disagree with you again about the episode. I thought 804 was hilarious. I watched the episode with a bunch of friends, and we were all cracking up practically the whole time. We're still joking today about it.

Anyway, Friends pulled the exact same preliminary rating this year as it did for its fourth episode last year. The dropoff has lessened each week. I really don't think there's anything to be concerned about. It will obviously be lower next week because of the rerun, & then the following week because of Halloween, but once the second week of November sweeps rolls around, I think it'll be in good shape.

Friends was about .3 million viewers higher than I thought, but I have to think that this last episode is going to really derail momentum for this show. From what I've seen, the next episode doesn't look any better.

You said less than 25 million, & it pulled 25.8 million. That more than a 0.3 million viewer difference.

I haven't seen anything about the next episode, but everyone I've talked to loved 904, so I have to disagree with you there. I definitely think this season is off to a strong start both ratings-wise & storyline-wise, which is great considering I was worried it would fizzle out.
