I'd hate to thnk that the writers had Ross and Rachel sleep together without letting us see something in the way of them even thinking about being together. That would be VERY dissapointing to all RnR fans!! Yes, the ending looked a lot like Rachel is the one pregnant (and I would be thrilled if it were true) but I have a feeling it's someone else. It's like a soap opera, the look could mean she found out someone else is pregnant. A friend of Joey's or Ross' or maybe Moinca lied to Chandler because she wanted to be the one who told him. Again, it DID look like Rachel is it, but who knows in TV land. cj

I also would hate to have RnR back together (even for just one bonusnight) without us the viewers knowing about it. It's a betrayal from the writers side., They alwayssaid they wanted to give us every detail in the RnR story, while they wanted to have surprise elements in the Mondler relationship (like them getting in bed the firts time etc). But now it seems ( if Ross is the father and Rachel indeed is pregnant), that the writers pulled a Mondler on us. Very disappointing in that case. But I also think that teh writer have to make it ross baby to not piss off all the RnR fans, an dto make afull circle on Friends.

RnR fans??? Jeez, WHO CARES??? I think the writers have dicked us around too much on the whole Ross/Rachel thing for me to really give a shit anymore. Yes, they were a great (TV) couple. I was disappointed when they split up, and for about a year after they split, I was really hoping they'd patch things up and get back together. But if you'll remember, in pretty much every promo for new episodes, they made it look like there was a strong possibility of the two of them getting back together. They'd show a clip that would totally imply that they just MIGHT get back together in this episode. In one season finale, they're all at the beach and at the end, Ross has to make a decision between Rachel and the bald chick. Then we had to wait the whole summer to find out who he picked, and what happened?? He picked Rachel, they got back together for about a day, then they get into a fight and split up once again. They dragged the whole thing out for like 2 years after they broke up, and after about a year of that, I could've cared less whether or not they got back together. The wedding in London gave it a huge possibility, but yet again, nothing happened!
In other words, MOVE ON! Maybe Ross is the father of Rachel's baby, maybe he's not. Maybe they did have an off-screen fling. But don't count on it. If they end up back together, then great! If they don't, oh well, life goes on. At least Monica & Chandler are together, isn't that enough? If the show ends with both Ross & Rachel and Phoebe & Joey together, then I'm gonna laugh cuz that would be so cliched. That wouldbe cool if Ross & Rachel getback together, but again, don't hold your breath.

Oh I totally agree. Ever since the London episode (when was that? Like 2 years ago?) about 80% of the episodes revolve around the two of them in some way. But it's not like they didn't do that with Ross & Rachel either (which lasted long after they broke up). Now don't get me wrong, "Friends" is a great show, and at one time it was the funniest show on TV (well, second to "The Simpsons") but I think the show would've been better off if neither of them had ever gotten romantically involved with each other. Or at least they could've stopped with Ross & Rachel. But I guess that's the writers' way of making sure things stay interesting.
I'm a little surprised that you're the only one to comment that although Mondler has been a huge focus over the last 3 seasons, that the first 5 have consistently focused on RnR in some form.
I for one was tired of Ross and Rachel every season finale or every other episode concerning their relationship. Are they going to get together, are they not going to get together and on and on and on...
Yes, Mondler has had their share, but at least it was consistent. And besides, they're a couple. They are in love. Wouldn't it have made the show more stupid if we didn't see them together at all over the past few years?
I think that the RnR thing has been overdone in the "will they, will they not" etc. form. That's what has been so annoying. Maybe they got them together too soon. I never wanted them to split up but the writers didn't see it that way.
Absolutely. It got so bad, it was almost hurtful to us RnR fans because of how things have been handled. Can you really blame us for feeling like we've been somewhat cheated out of our favorite couple in favor of CnM? For many of us, the storyline has been ruined and can't be saved.
Ok, so they're a couple. We all can see that over and over and over. They're in love. And we can see that over and over and over. The rest of the four in this show get stories of little interest. The characters have become annoying. I have been praying for something of interest (REAL interest) to happen to any of the others. That's why I was happy with the apparent "surprise" at the end of the finale.
By the way, those endless stories about RnR (after their break-up) were not what most of the RnR fans wanted to see. Those were not "our" stories. They were only written to keep hope alive for a while and then thrown away afterwards. Who wanted that??? Thank goodness Joey still makes me laugh, anyway.
If you're an RnR fan and you disagree with what I've said, I apologize for assuming too much. Speaking personally, it's really hard to hook me on "love" stories. I generally don't like romantic comedies and "sappy", contrived romance. But Friends hooked me almost effortlessly with Ross and Rachel.
