I thought it was Brad Pitt she wanted to get away from. :)
Seriously though, how many sitcom actors have ever been able to escape their characters to have a successful movie career? I can't think of *any* offhand...
Are there any chances Friends will reunion at the 2ed Season or 3rd season of Joey Show? or only Chandler Bing will join

I should point out that Moonlighting wasn't a sitcom, though.

Who cares? It was funny, wunnit?

Much as I love Dedee, even I could not claim she's had a successful movie career!
I don't know any of those sitcoms.
Yes, but that's beside the point - which was about actors moving from *sitcoms* to movies.

What I was mainly referring to though, was *typecast* sitcom actors moving on to have successful movie careers, rather than actors who may have made brief appearances in short-lived/unpopular sitcoms.
Err... I don't think Pammy was famous for her *sitcom* work... :)
I refer you to my above comment.
Paul Hyett wrote:
These are NOT breif appearances in short-lived sitcoms (I dont know how popular older ones were). EVERY SINGLE EXAMPLE I've quoted is a part in the cast of the sitcom, going on for years in some cases. None of these many actors/actresses was there as mere guests, so just come off it.
Pamela Anderson was in the cast of Home Improvement for the first three years of the show, and that certainly WAS a huge popular sitcom. The fact that you don't know that is proof that she DID escape the typecasting.
And as well as Pamela Anderson, Alfred Molina, Ben Stiller, Billy Crystal, Brenda Blethyn, Catherine Zeta Jones, Christopher Lloyd, Corey Feldman, Dan Aykroyd, Daniel Baldwin, Danny Devito, David Arquette, Diane Ladd, Dudley Moore, Emma Thompson, Erika Eleniak, Gary Busey, Geena Davis, George Clooney, George Kennedy, Goldie Hawn, Halley Berry, Jack Lemmon, James Belushi, Jamie Lee Curtis, Janeane Garofalo, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Jennifer Tilly, Jim Carrey, Jodie Foster, Joe Mantegna, Joe Pantoliano, John Candy, John Ritter, John Travolta, Julie Walters, Karen Black, Lucy Liu, Mark Hamill, Martin Short, Maureen Lipman, Meg Ryan, Michael J. Instead of trying to move the goalposts all the time Mr Hyett, why not stop wigling, come clean, and admit that you was wrong?

That's another sexisr insult but I'll let it pass, as you were factually incorect - she'd already had her breakthroigh into bigger movies when she met Michael Douglas, at a birthday party for celebs born 25th September.

Catherine & Michael met in 1998 while she was publicising Mask of Zorro at a film festival. It was this film, released a few months earlir, that was he brothough role into bigger parts, BEFIRE she met him. Gettit?
Catherine was a child prodigy, starring on stage in 'Annie', 'Bugsy Malone', and 'The Pajama Game' before the age of 15, when she won the lead in '42nd Street'. She became famous when 'The Darling Buds of May' was a smash hit in 1991, after which she played supporting roles in a number of movies before starring in 'The Mask of Zorro'. Only after all that did she meet Michael.

If (and that's a BIG IF) Courteney makes a guest appearance on DH, that will be what it is -- a guest appearance = one show. Why would a guest appearance on DH stop Courteney from doing a "Friends" reunion show, anyway? Plus, you mentioned in another post that you read this in a gossip mag, so why do you put so much stock in its truth? Also, did Jennifer call you up one evening and personally TELL YOU that she wanted to get as far away from Rachel Greene as she can? That's absurd, you know. Rachel Greene MADE Jennifer Aniston a household name. I can't see her completely turning her back on that fact. ~~~ Kathy

The people who talk to the gossip mags work in the industry or know someone that works in the said industry.
Don't be daft, she doesn't know my phone number.
Then why does she want to become a 'movie star' when it's obvious she hasn't got the screen presence to be one? Her pipe dream ambition has already cost her her marriage, and her co-star in she which was having a 'relationship' with has been dumped, and he has now left hollywoodland to move to Chicago. Rachel Green may have made her a 'household name' in the western world, but Jen has bigger ambitions, but not the means to attain them. As I've said before, she is a TV actress, NOT a movie actress. The same goes for Courteney and Lisa, plus the guys as well, which is why all their movies post Friends have more or less sucked.
"Christopher" wrote in message news:[email]...
Maybe, but is it impossible for CCA to be in more than ONE TV show at a time? You're making excuses. Lame excuses, at that. Sounds like you would really hate to see a reunion show, which means you really weren't a fan of "Friends" to start with, huh?
The people who talk to the gossip mags have a price and they'll make up anything to get some $$. Third-hand information is rarely credible.
So how do you know that piece of fiction?
Well, she really does have the screen presence. She's made some pretty funny movies, plus "The Good Girl" was excellent. The reason her marriage broke up has nothing to do with ambition. Nor does it have anything to do with Brad's wanting a child. He's been with AnJo for quite some time and she won't have his baby, but she'll sure as heck ADOPT one! Maybe he's sterile!
"Hollywoodland"? Haven't I told you about that s**t! Why didn't you say "Chicagoland"? According to you, every city in America ends with 'land'.
She's both. She has proven that she is just as successful in the movies as she is on TV. Just because she hasn't won "awards" for movies doesn't mean she isn't good. And she DOES have the means to attain them. If not, FORBES wouldn't have included her in the "Most Powerful Celebrity" list, of which neither Courteney, Lisa or any of the guys were included on.
Which is all the more reason a reunion movie is a perfect idea. ~~~ Kathy

I liked Friends, but the time of Friends is now over. I'm a realist, and can see it not happening, and wishful thinking by you and all the other Friends fans out there isn't going to get all 6 cast members to come together again in a role that they spent 10 years in. $$ might, but they were already getting a million an episode when they finished with Friends. They might do it IF their respective post Friends plans go belly up, but it'd be like all the work post Friends will have been doing was all for nothing as their role/characters in Friends is all they will ever be remembered for, which is not what thespians on this side of the pond like to happen.
Of course, green is the most important color in America. And information has it's price, the only determining factor is the value of that information. But it's still information, like a paparazzi photo has a certain value before it's gone.
Common sense.
In a limited capacity.
And it started all the trouble. But, the role wasn't all that extensive, and it fitted into her acting range, and ability. Not exactly the make of a versatile actress.
Ahhh but it does, and that is the nub of the whole sorry saga.
Only time will tell on that one.
He wasn't with Angelina when Jen finished The Good Girl. Plus she was still doing Friends in 2002. I'm sure Brad is quite fertile.
Yes, and I have told you that is what it's referred to on this side of the pond. Remember Kathy I am English and not an American.
Now your exaggerating. Hollywood is the only American place that goes by the name hollywoodland on this side of the pond.
No she's not. She has aspirations to be a movie star, but wanting to be one and being one are two different things. You could say the same for Tara Reid. :-)
Most of her movies go straight to dvd/video after the initial premier on Los Angeles or where ever the premier is being held, Angelina's go to movie theaters all over the world before going to dvd/video.
Forbes is an American institution that is meaningless beyond America's shoreline. And you'll find that Rene Zellweger has more clout in tinsel town then Jen, can you imagine Jennifer Aniston carrying off Rene Zellweger's role in Cold Moutain with the same conviction, THAT is the mark of a good actress.
It isn't going to happen Kathy. :-)
