... are the dullards who run the ads out of NBC making it seem like a mystery about who's pregnant? The fucking season finale showed who was pregnant to anyone with more than three brain cells (i.e., everyone not working for the NBC ad department). The big question is "who's the father" and that's what these mongoloids need to be pushing.

Because Rachel never actually *said* she was pregnant, technically the whole finale was just educated speculation. They can't push the "who's the father" line when it's not even been confirmed to the general public (and by that I mean the ones who *don't* spend every waking hour on the net reading spoilers) who the mother is.
That said, once 801 is out of the way, *that's* the time to start pushing the mystery daddy line.
She didn't have to. Jennifer Aniston's a marginal actress at best but she was able to pull off that intimation quite easily. Much like Mulder on the X-Files who didn't say "I'm the father," it was obvious to anyone with more than half a lobe.
Yes it has. It was right there at the end of the episode. No spoilers, no educated guesses, nothing. Confirmation.

Doesn't matter. People at large are only going to speculate on it until they're told - and an awkward look, *especially* when it's what the season finale cliffhanger is hinged on, is *not* confirmation. It's a device to get people talking, but the majority of people were mainly asking "is Rachel pregnant" first, "who's the daddy" only after they deduced that it was. All we know from that glance is that Rachel *thought* she was pregnant, not that she actually was.
No, food for speculation. This show *thrives* on seemingly left-field comments or glances that get people talking, it's basically been the basis for the entire show from day one. However, anyone who was watching this show in the early days knows that what we're shown and what actually happens are often two completely different things - NBC knows that, so of course they're going to drag out the whole "who's the mum" thing first, even when it's blatantly obvious to those of us who know what to look for in these things.
The cliffhanger wasn't if she was pregnant, it was that she was pregnant.
You mean after the half-a-nanosecond it takes for the neurons to finish firing?
Well duh. Obviously she hadn't been to a doctor to confirm it but that pregnancy test was hers. So then the question to ask would be "Is Rachel pregnant?" which I still find ridiculous since this would be a lot of hysteria for nothing. Still, it's better than "who's pregnant?"
Like?
No, they're contradicting themselves.

<Snipping a lot of stuff where Tina is quite correct>
This does happen in the show, but they've only done it in one season finale so far. At the end of 325 "TOA the Beach", Ross was stunned to learn that Rachel was still in love with him, but he didn't know if he dared dive back into all the trouble she caused him. On the other hand Bonnie's hair would grow back, and she's really fun & cool, and he was finally moving on. So Joey convinced him he had to choose that night.
In the hallway between the bedrooms, Ross came up the stairs and stopped between two doors. He looked at the one on his right, then he looked at the one on his left, thought about it, and went into the bedroom on his right. "Hi" he said to the girl he'd chosen, as he closed the door...
Who did he choose? Rachel or Bonnie? Bonnie or Rachel?
Would Ross & Rachel be back together at last?
The fans debated this for months, then half of them read the spoilers to find out, while the rest kept their cool to see Season Four begin.
And what did happen? Ross had greeted BOTH GIRLS since Rachel was applying lotion to the skin of Bonnie's sunburnt bald head.
Then Bonnie left expecting Ross to follow her, and then Ross kissed Rachel and they fell on the bed, and then during foreplay he realised that if they had sex right then he'd be cheating on Bonnie so he went to break up with her, and when he got back Rachel had cooled off and spent the time writing a lengthy confession for Ross to agree to, but when he eventually got to the bottom of it he realised just how much she had betrayed him, and he broke it off, and he had no-one.
So except from a drunken fling, and a marriage which Rachel had to cancel as fast as possible, they've been apart for 97 episodes now.
Gotta agree. You seem to forget that the first rule of promotion is to assume that the viewing public at large *are* idiots. Otherwise we wouldn't be watching the damn thing, we'd be talking about molecular biology and artificial intelligence in our research labs at Ivy League or Oxbridge universities. ;-)
