Ross inconsistency Question?

Ok they had a lot of episode reruns on today [2 lol] on the wb [1 at 6:30 and 1 at 7 - don't know why they had both] - but I believe it was the first one which also had joey getting a job at central perk in it.

Ross mentioned something about the barucha being the first song he learned how to play on the keyboard; but anyone with a meory can remmeber that *crap he called *music* way back in like season 2. The *music* was really car sounds, screeching, etc.

So isn't that a writer inconsistencey?

Because they led us to believe that that was all he could play.....the sounds and crap - and then he goes and starts saying that he actually knew how to play songs...? it just doesn't make much sense....

Not necessarily. As I recall, he was also clumsily playing a song in TOW The Prom Night Video - "Axel F." While not particularly skilled, Ross does know the basic notes on the keyboard. His "sound" was a pretentious attempt to be avant-garde; it's as if a person who, having completed Art 101, decides he's Picasso and dives into real bad cubism without knowing what he's doing.

The 'songs' he played then was his own original compositions the so called "Sound" of his, doesn't mean he can't play normal boring conventional stuff too though ;)

IIRC Ross said that Barracuda (a song from 1977 performed by Heart) was the first song he played on his guitar not the keyboard.

There's no inconsistency at all, Christineee. You are confusing Ross's ability to play well, with his own esoteric compositions.

In 214 "TOW the Prom Video" we saw a young Ross playing "Axel F" (from the "Beverly Hills Cop" soundtrack) rather nicely on his keyboard.
